II Availability through Diamond Resorts International

Personally, I have not had any problems with I.I. since becoming a memeber in 1998. Yes they do make the occasional mistake but, it's always been corrected to my satisfaction.

As to the amazing power of THE Club, I have yet to see it. My Club points really don't seem to be any stronger than my weeks were at Polo Towers. I still see the same resorts and availability when I do a search with my points or with my weeks (I still have an individual account).

Now I suppose if I had a dog trader that was put into THE Club, then I'd be extatic about my new found trade power. I do have such a week and getting it into THE Club would be a big improvement. However, using a decent 5 star week in Las Vegas has proven to be as good as THE Club when it comes to making an online exchange.

So, while other might be impressed with THE Club's "exchange power," I think anyone who owned a decent week before becoming a Club member will see that THE Club and it's corporate account isn't all that spectacular unless your week was something of a dog before you became a corporate account holder.

Yes, but weeks that were dogs are normally not worth many points and/or have high MF/pt. So you can see all the good stuff now but the points from your dog aren't necessarily enough.

I would think that except that at least two I could test never showed that. In every system I used - RCI & SFX, who only takes top resorts/times - except II - the weeks were tigers. Yet in II it was a royal battle to get anything decent. it could be done but it was after numerous unwanted phone calls offering things that weren't close to what we requested. or we had to ride herd on the "matches" on the web as they too weren't what was requested.

So in 2003 we dropped the II membership and one of the two weeks became a Diamond Corporate account. The same exact week that got us little without pulling teeth as a full deposit suddenly got the exact exchanges we requested and, in all but one case, didn't even use the full week value in points! The exact same deposit - three systems, two work great one fails until it gets the kick of the Corporate priority. My theory is II such such a small number of decent deposits that they all get pushed to what they think are their most important master clients -the corporates - the individual members just don't count. I have no other explanation how the values in II are so different than two other exchange systems. In any case to the limited degree I now use II it works at last and at no membership fee to me. Thats not bad.

II Availability

I have not found any decent availability through II. I searched for 2 years in advance for Coastal California and Hawaii and found that nothing was available for the next two years. Is there some trick to finding availability since many of you seemed satisified with II?

You don't see much in II beyond 12 months. The best search timing in my experience is like 6 to 9 months before your preferred time.
