    Diamond getting "marginally" better.

Spence, I was calling this morning re: a deposit I was making in Club Select - fax receipt acknowledged receipt at resort AND receipt at Diamond on 5/2/08.

Anyway, I was told I was the 4th caller and I would be answered in 4 minutes. 11 minutes and 59 seconds later I was answered. Nice person but NO ANSWER (as usual). They will "call me back." Will advise about their expediency.

Are you calling Las Vegas (Elite) or are you getting non-elite II desk in Miami? Same Phone#.

Now that I think about it, there was not selections for Elite or Non-Elite. I do not have a clue. Suggestions, please!

        I am an elite member.

What is a type one - two - three owner?

Your phone# is your selection, when you punch it in, it correlates and sends you to the appropriate place. When they let you punch a button to say you were elite, they had a lot of non-elite taking that route...

Type one is the voluntary club member that held on to the deeded week & just assigns the use annually to Club and whose home resort is not managed by Diamond/RPM. This applies to most former Sunterra owners unless they bought into a Trust the past couple years.

Type two is the owner - voluntary as above, but whose home resort is managed by Diamond/RPM. Riskier as the assessments for both the Club and the resort are under Diamond control. Likely to have HOA Boards with a majority Diamond control.

Type three is the former owner, resort managed by Diamond/RPM, who gave up their deed and paid to become part of The Club trust who now have little more than a promise of resort use and future fees. These are the folks who better hope they don't forget a bill for 3 months or their membership and all money paid could go "poof"!

freak, Spence. what times are you calling? I was getting these sort of 20-30 min waits the past two weeks when calling at lunch time (LV/PST time)...but last two days, I called right at 7:15AM (LV/PST time) and a person answers right away.

I think the long hold times are all the pissed off people about these fees. I finally get an invoice saying I have a $200+ credit on my account so I do not need to pay, then yesterday I was casually checking the site out and see I owe $66. WTF ??? This would result in my calling right away and adding to this Q problem.

This hold time bs sounds like last year when I called Voip - Free Calls - Everything Voip. it starts with like 7th in line, wait is 16 mins. Almost everytime I get down to like 2nd or 3rd in line, wait time has increased incrementally to say 60 mins. Since I was on vaca and had time to blow, I tried their system prob over a dozen times over two days. Same trend. It was complete BS. one time I had the phone on hold for like 2 hrs when I started out the call as 8th or so inline w/ wait time 20 mins. What a joke that was !

Also blamed for the increase was the new U.S. Members Call Center, and things like the RainTree association and ResortOptions. I tried to book Anaheim in December for three nights and they wanted almost 5000 points for the cheapest unit for three nights. Cash directly to the hotel worked better.
So as far as I can tell, aside from the value I get from a booking of a DRI resort using my Club pts and the generally better call center experience when calling the vegas center (rather than India), all the other things I am learning about DRI (II Gold, ResortOptions, exchange pts for Air Vouchers, exchange your non-DRI resort for Club pts, etc.) are all unnecessary 'fluss', stuff most of us can do with out IMO.

So, I own multiple deeds at Polo Towers, the 'birth place' of DRI and I give the Club rights to use my week in exchange for annual Club pts. Am I a Type Two ???

This is not like being Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Elite, right? These are John's own terminology. You could become famous like Fletch 5/2/1. Tell me about being a type 1, wanna see my VRI special assessment (OK, I know, we can blame that all on prior Sunterra Mismanagement).

Every timeshare owner is at risk for SA if collections aren't handled correctly. At least as a Type 1 we hold a vote for the Board members that represent us and we have an independent Management that isn't based on sales needs. If the Board is majority Developer then the individual owners will always be outvoted.

Actually, the birth place of DRI would be Jockey Club....and their owners kicked DRI management out. After that DRI learned a few tricks and has kept the HOA/BOD stacked with DRI sympathetic employee's and the token owner.
