  • Transferring Points

I was curious if two people with different accounts in The Club can transfer points between the two accounts. I have a friend that needs 1500 points to make a reservation and I wanted to know if I could give some of my 2008 points to them.
    Thanks

There is currently no transfer of points between accounts, but it may be coming. What you'd have to do right now is coordinate the reservation made with their account and one made with your account. With a request on each one counter referencing the other to keep the party in the same unit. The problem is that it'll cost you 10% more because you'll probably be booking 'nightly' rates.

Does your friend still have points for 2009? If so, they can just borrow from next years points. All it will cost them is their maintenance fees for next year, which they would have to pay by January anyway. Just a thought.

Yes they still have their 2009 points, but for such a small amount of points (1500) we were trying to find a way around paying the mf right now. Thanks

I've not borrowed in quite some time but my experience had been that I only needed to pay the MF on the amount of points borrowed, maybe that has changed.

I asked this question and got two answers...to borrow 2009 for 2008:
            1) pay all my 2009 MF's
            OR

            2) since I own deeded weeks converted to pts, pay only one or two or three...etc. worth of MF's to get me enough points I need for 2008. For example, if each of my deeded weeks yields 5000 annual pts and I needed 7000 2009 pts for 2008, I had to pay 2 deeded weeks' of MF's (thus allowing me to borrow 2x5000pts=10,000pts from 2009 in 2008.

I think you also need to pay 2009 Club fees.

I did that last year. but that was under Sunterra and not Diamond International.
