Using II to get Belize

I was wondering if anyone has been able to exchange with II to get a week in Belize. I have searched a few times all the way up to July 2010, and have only seen the same week in June of this year available, and that is for a one bedroom. I searched the II Getaways and saw quite a few weeks available but they were pricey! Also as a member of THe Club I know we have a corporate II account, but on II's pricing page it show prices of II members or Gold Members. With Gold members getting better prices. Does anyone know which membership is associated with The Clubs corporate account.

All THE Club members are now II Gold Members (a $50 'value') and another one of the reasons for the $70 assessment this year!

When Getaways are 'pricey' it usually means that these units were not a part of the exchange inventory but are basically rentals either offered up by the resort or 'bought' by II for the membership.

Belize has limited availability in II, if you want something you need to put in an ongoing search. You have to front the exchange fee but the points don't come out of your account until an exchange is made.

Thanks for the info. If I put an ongoing search through II and they never find a week that meets my needs will I get the exchange fee back?

Yes, you will at whatever time you cancel and/or give up.

You might also want to put in a request at DAELive.com Timeshare, Vacation Ownership & Points Clubs Exchange Service . I have seen a fair amoung of Belize inventory there over the years.

I think the OP posting in the DRI forum about II exchanges, probably is a Club member, so DAE is not an option.

Sort of, it is your only exchange company option that you can use directly. RCI is not an option.

You can reserve a week in THE Club and see what independent exchange company will accept it. DAE might and Carolinian seems to think that that is an option for Belize. TPI probably will accept, I've never seen Belize there, but it's always possible (just like the timeshare salesman tells you). Or you can do a direct exchange with a Belize owner.

Thanks for the heads up! I dont know if i am doing something wrong or what! But all that is coming up for exchange is 1 date for Captain Morgans (Nov 15 efficiency) and then a few dates for Costa Maya Reef. Could they really be gone already? And what do you mean when you say seen with "silver select, standard, or premiere" I would be trading club points, does that make a difference. This is my first experience with II.

So yes, the other week is gone...
BUT the Costa Maya wasn't there this morning.

I was trying to show you that different ownerships/resorts/unit sizes can affect what u see.
So I used a "Premiere' "Select" and an unrated 'Standard' resort to search.
And as u can see, different ownerships 'see' different things - the unrated standard resort only saw the studio - not the 1BR unit.

Do you have an ongoing search in to try and get an exchange into this resort?

edit, I just checked with the 'standard - it sees the studio - and checked with a REALLY standard resort (that is great for European resorts) and I don't see Capt Morgan - only the Costa Maya - get it?
Different owneships see different things.

Well Thanks again, I really appreciate you taking the time to check for me. Do you have any idea which type of ownership II considers The Club Points? I did see the studio, and the costa maya resort, Hopefully they consider Club points to Premiere!

You really should see most everything with Club points
except
Any of the lower tier resorts on the matrix on ~ page ten of the DRI Catalog will not show up online and some of the very high end resorts like Four Seasons don't always show. If you know either of the above cases is what you want and it's available you can book it by calling.
