Just bought 1500 points for $5800 to bring in our every-other-year 1br at San Luis Bay Inn for 3500 points for a total of 5000 points.
    Deal or no deal?
    Still time to recind.

My opinion is that 5000 points per year is too little and that your purchase was expensive. Read all the threads in this forum, twice, then you decide.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

I think that 5800 for 1500 points is way too much! I would try calling the owners 800 number and see what kind of deal they would give you.

I would agree. With Club, we figure 6500 points per week. We came up with that number, because that's the number of points that is charged for a top tier II 2BR reservation. Therefore, by our formula (which is certainly not best for everyone) the ideal number of points for two vacations a year would be 13,000. Granted, that number of points can be stretched to provide even four weeks a year, but not everyone wants to reserve in the last 60 days. We prefer long term (year ahead) reservations and searches.

Therefore, we would suggest you rescind immediately, purchase 10,000 points on the used market, and then pay $2995 one time to bring the entire package into Club.

Commenting specifically on your current arrangement . . . yes, it's too expensive. You should be able to do a "Conversion Plus" for a single deed by buying 1000 points for around $1500.

You people are terrific! Thanks for all your help.
Two things: Is there a prefered procedure for recinding?
Our yearly fees would be $790. What should they be on 10,000 points?

yes too expensive. take your time to purchase resale then bring into the CLUB for least amt of direct-purchased pts (1000?) and the 2995 conversion fee. read these forums thoroughly before doing anything. will save you thousands of dollars.

dont rush. the deals will be there tomorrow...next month...etc

To rescind, you must follow the directions to rescind that was in your sales contract. Most of the time, it says to send a certified letter by US mail. But just do whatever the contract says.
