Just my penny input. $14000 for 4000pts. Say conversion to Club costs $2995. The cost per point is ($14000-$2995)/4000pts = $2.75/pt
Hmmmm this sounds suspiciously like a reasonable cost DRI would charge for purchase of points. I would say that they are NOT just throwing in Club membership 'for free' .

This said, I am very glad I converted my deeded week to Club last year when this option became available to me once DRI purchased Sunterra. I think DRI has a decently good system in place for members. But as mentioned above, many things to learn if you truly want to maximize your membership.

I say this knowing DRI is not perfect but it there are those inside the company who do want to improve its service to its members. But this is an uphill effort.

OK.. I rescinded my contract today. I mailed 2 certified letters, return signature requested via US mail, followed it to the T. I also did the same via fax. What I mean by 2 is that I rescinded the contract and "The Club" membership just to cover all bases. I kept all my reciepts and the fax record.
I hope everything goes well. I even got a call from my sales associate but didnt answer in time, I wonder if they already know?
Now its time for me to do more homework and find a good resale.
Thanks for all your help, you will be seeing me around
