  • Using two timeshares

    Hi

First, we are still fairly new to timeshares and am not familiar with terminology. We have two timeshares. Our first is Riverpointe Napa Valley which I believe is part of California Club. Our second is Sunterra, Diamond Resorts and we own in Sedona. We want to deposit our Napa points in Sunterra's name so we can use them together with our Sunterra resort.
What name do we use to deposit? Club Sunterra, or Diamond Resorts or something else?

    thanks

There is no such thing as Club Sunterra. Do not really know what you are asking... Do you own deeded Diamond resort in Sedona or are you a member of THE Club. Are you talking about depositing your Napa week into CLUB SELECT??

I don't really understand why you are saying that you don't know what I am asking. Some time ago, you posted "Deeded ClubSunterra Members" where you listed benefits and entitlements for a deeded ClubSunterra member. If ClubSunterra no longer exisits, so be it. Is ClubSelect a Diamond term? Or is it just The Club? or what? It's all terminology.

Yes, we are deeded owners in Sunterra when we purchased in Sedona, which was bought out by Diamond Resorts. So I guess that makes us deeded owners in Diamond Resorts. What is the difference between deeded owners in Diamond and The Club? Are you saying we deposit Napa points into Club Select? or Diamond Resorts? or The Club? I don't really know what you are asking or saying. Please clarify.

What you're asking is confusing. You appear to be a deeded owner of a Diamond Resorts (formally Sunterra) timeshare in Sedona. The other timeshare you own is Riverpointe Napa Valley which is part of another internal exchange group not affiliated with Diamond. You can deposit your Napa Valley timeshare with Interval International.

You may or may not have joined Club Sunterra (now The Club) giving you a certain amount of points to use to exchange into 19 Trust properties. If not, you can exchange your Sedona week by depositing it into either RCI or II (whichever it is affliated with). Does this sound right, so far?

What you appear to be asking about is Club Select which allows you the option of depositing your Napa Valley timeshare with DRI on a yearly basis and receiving Diamond points to use in exchange. Club Select if different from The Club.

Whether or not you have this option, I think, depends, on what paper work you were given when you bought your deeded timeshare and/or became a member of the Club. The best thing to do is actually call Diamond and ask them...they can also tell you have you go about depositing your Napa Valley timeshare into Club Select.

If this wasn't your question, sorry.

As far as I can tell you question is how do you deposit your Napa timeshare for points to combine with your DRI points, right?

If I'm correct then as muzjik pointed out your ability to deposit your non DRI resort for point using the "Club Select" option will depend on your type of membership. The way I understand it Trust Members (19 resorts) do not have access to club select.
So if your DRI points can be used at all DRI formally Club Sunterra resorts then you should have be able to deposit your Napa week and combine the points given for it with your other existing points, otherwise I believe the answer is NO you can not deposit your Napa week for additional points.

Because YOU have NOT given us enough INFORMATION.

If you can not tell me what you own exactly and can not understand that this forum exisited before Club Sunterra changed to something else, then I can not help you.

You need to tell us exactly what you own because although you have now told us that you are a deeded owner, you have not told us whether you are a member of THE Club.

If you are a member of THE Club then Club Select is where you can deposit WEEKS that are not part of THE Club, you can not "deposit" points from your CA timeshare only a week that you have reserved.

What you need to do is go to a Diamond sales office or call to talk to them on how to join Club and how to put Riverpointe Napa Valley into club too. They will tell you how the whole system works and how many points they will give you for each property. Please let us know what the out come is so that we can learn too. I hope this helps.

You cant put Riverpointe into THE Club. On an annual basis you can deposit a Riverpointe week if you have Club Select benefits and if they take it. If you buy points from DRI you can stipulate that they will take it in your contract.

Napa River Pointe is one of the new affiliates that just joined DRI's Club. I got the 'exciting' email back in late June.

                  http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...tinations.html

Is DRI also offerring owners of Napa opportunities to join the Club (the California version, rumored to include West Coast resorts like Hawaii resorts and Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort) ?
EMAIL me if you wish, do NOT PM

I think that the River Pointe connection is through ResorTime or some similar affiliation and that owners there have no reciprocal access to THE Club nor opportunity to join.
