How to Pick the property to visit??

So we went on our first vacation to AZ using our DRI points. We stayed in two places -

Sedona Summit (managed by DRI)- this was fantastic and more than we could hope for.

London Bridge in Lake Havasu (managed by ????) - the biggest dump on earth and absolutely disgusting. We left early and went to Phoenix and checked into a Hilton Resort.

My questions is do the place vary in quality this much? How do you determine which is a good property and which is not?

It appears that DRI is entering into agreements with other TS companies to get more properties so how do you know if they are any good. Obviously you dont want to ruin you vacation in a dump.

Part of London Bridge used to be EPIC Resorts and they were bought out in bankruptcy by Sunterra now DRI. I have had guests at LB who have been perfectly happy, I have never been.

Check this website resort reviews section or you can join TUG and they also have t/s resorts reviews. TS Today magazine is another option and RCI have resort reviews.

Thanks for the reply. the manager there said they had nothing to do with DRI except DRI had a few rooms reserved for them. the first room we checked into smelled like puke (2 bd rm). the next room (1 bd rm) had a pull out couch that had broken springs, sticky floor was dirty and not at all pleasing.

The grounds were not maintained well. Even a local store owner said the place was going to the dogs.

DRI did take care of me.
