You are an example of why they have the Trust and don't sell deeds anymore where foreclosure is a legal hassle for DRI.

Your recourse would be to email to all the addresses below

explain your situation, ask for forgiveness and reinstatement, ask how much you owe with interest and penalties. I assure you that any legal recourse taken by you would be a waste of your money.

Please let us know what the answer is/was.
Anyone other than "him" think this to be bad information and advice, feel free to chime in. I feel that it is a waste of money to contest this, I think it is pretty close to ironclad.

Because, we had two accounts one was paid in full and the other one we still making payments. Here is the deal they took the one the was paid off, and left the other one. However we can not even make the maintanance fee for the other one, the system is not allowing it. They told us to keep making our monthly payment, but we are considering just letting it go. If we can not work something out.
      We will keep you posted.
This seems like a fight between Goliath and David.
And some question the need for a deeded ownership that forces the developer/operator to have to deal with costly foreclosure rather than a simple "close out" of a delinquent account to end the ownership. Here is a perfect example of what can happen if the developer/operators are left to their own plans for how owners can be terminated out vs the laws of foreclosure under a deed. It will never be good for owners - why do you think the big guys want non-deeded RTU "memberships" in trusts?

I certainly wouldn't want to fight this battle. I'm still waiting on the refund of $155 that they have acknowledged was billed in error. I hate to think what would have happened had I owned trust points and tried to argue that I did not owe the money to begin with. I could just see DRI sending out a billing in error and terminating a persons ownership over a billing error. Even if your right, you still lose. The ensuing fight to get your membership back in order would not be at all fun and probably wouldn't be profitable.

You're correct when you say they are Sharks. Sunterra was sharks and I don't believe DRI to be much of an improvement in some areas.

If all the OP says is true, DRI would be STUPID not to re-instate. All it takes are a few bad mouthers out there to sink any company. Mistakes happen, DRI not being exempt. But admitting to the mistake and fixing it is the right thing to do - if a company does the right thing, it has a huge advantage over its competitors and it would surely get new customers from word-of-mouth that here is a company that does things right. I mean, if a company has reputation as 'being a shark', would anyone in good conscience and in their right mind recommend to 50 friends and family ? HELL NO, I would not, even for any buyer referral the company throws at me. I refuse to put my good name behind recommending friends or family to company that SUCKS.

DRI has been good to me so far, though there has been hiccups all of which have been fixed to my satisfaction. But from what I have heard about the old Sunterra, I think DRI is headed in the right direction. They do have internal housekeeping to do, however. For example, give some 'shape up or ship out' ultimatums to some current employees.
