The Powhatan Plantation resort in colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, just slashed its rates by 50%, including some peak summer dates:

• Sept. 1-30: $69 per night on Sunday-Thursday stays
• Aug. 8-31: $99 per night on Sunday-Thursday stays
• Weekends over the travel period $20 more per night

This is for a 1-Bedroom villa on floor 2 or higher. One-Bedroom villas on the ground floor and 2-Bedroom villas are slightly more.
You must book by July 30.
The Powhatan Plantation sits on 256 acres and includes amenities such as indoor and outdoor pools, volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, hiking and exercise trails, bike rentals and a spa. All villas have either a partial or full kitchen and a patio.

Have you actually try to book it? It still show like 800+ for 1 BD at Sept 2008.
