There have been several reports from TS4Ms members that DRI members have had an Accommodation Certificate added to their II account. Check yours. May be a nice token of appeasement for the $70 supplement nay-sayers. I have one in my account as of yesterday. Since we can't 'deposit' anything to get one like a 'normal' member can, this is a nice addition for our 'corporate' membership. Way to go DRI!

DRI - Additional II Benefit?

Thanks Spence.
I checked my account and found an AC expired july 2009. Compared the trade power of the AC and my points. Could not find any significant difference.
If I book a 2 bedroom, it means DRI just gave me 6500 points free.
I guess I have to pay an exchange fee. Are there any hidden fees? RCI extra holidays may cause a few hundred to almost a thousand dollars, depending on resorts and locations. I wish the exchange fee is the only thing I have to pay.

Best I can tell, Stephen Cloobeck has been a big supporter of II AC's. Polo Towers still gets an AC for most weeks deposited while my weeks at Marriott's Grand Chateau do not. DRI has also used AC offers for people trading INTO their Williamsburg resorts.
I haven't checked my account yet but I don't doubt that when I do, an AC will be there. I may not always agree with everything DRI has done in the past but I will say I feel much better now that Mr. C is back in charge and taking a very active role in the management of the company. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

I saw my AC this am early and played around with it. It has some restrictions as to which resorts during more desirable times (similar to other ACs) but shows decent choices. I wondered why it was there and figured it was some new perk from DRI. Very nice! I'm sure II will get my exchange fee since I have never let an AC expire unused.
Spence, those figures are correct for most ACs. I have had some that were higher. Since there is no e-mail or other correspondence about this one, we can't be sure unless someone goes through the exchange process up to the payment page. That would show the fee owed. The legitimate object of Government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done but cannot do at all or cannot do so well for themselves”- Lincoln

This was a GREAT deal and worked out perfectly as I had been looking for a 2 bedroom unit in GTR. I just didn't have anything I wanted to give up to get the week I wanted.
DRI is really moving up on my favorites list, just like it was back when we first purchased in 1998.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

Doug, we exchanged into that resort a year ago in July using an AC from my personal II account. We really loved the resort and our unit. The 2 bedrooms units are really big and nicely done. The town is cute. There were several events held at the park during the week. We would definitely return again. The legitimate object of Government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done but cannot do at all or cannot do so well for themselves”- Lincoln

As it was, I was searching for a 1 bedroom unit at the Marriott resort using our studio deposit from Ocean Pointe. Oddly enough, I could have had the July 4th week early at the Marriott early in my searching. I didn't take it because we don't like to travel over the holidays. We take enough vacation time that I try to stay put during the holidays and allow fellow employee's who are more restricted when they can take off take that time to be with their family's.
The AC offered more choices than my studio and allowed me to grab the unit I wanted, the resort I wanted and the week I wanted. I couldn't be more thrilled with DRI at this moment and my pesimistic optimism is becoming more optimistic all the time. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

I read on TUG about the typical exchange fees for AC's, like Spence mentioned above. Would it be listed in this "more details" window? Anyone with a regular AC able to verify? If it's only gonna be $139, I'm gonna use this FOR SURE!
As it was I was extremely happy when I confirmed and the cost was only the normal exchange fee of $139. Normally AC's are more expensive. I knew that and was prepared to pay that fee for the extra vacation certificate. It could be a mistake I.I. made and they may figure it out and ask for additional money. I'm sure that if they do, I would be allowed to cancel the reservation and I would expect them to refund the fee's I had already paid. But, I don't expect that to happen. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

DRI is drastically improving its product for existing members, I find this a rare quality found in timeshare companies. For this reason alone I believe the bussiness model being pursued by DRI is going to result in a high level of success. No greater advertisement than satisfied customers. I just wished I had more time for vacations!

Just used my new DRI AC to book a two bedroom Marriott Grand Chateau Las Vegas. No hidden charges except the exchange fee of $139.
Really too good to be true.
