        1. How do I book Short Stay exchanges?

        * Simply refer to the “How it Works” link, for a step-by-step guide to booking your next Short Stay.

        2. How do Short Stay exchanges work?

        * As inventory becomes available, it is then shown as an option for your consideration in the booking engine. Members can use their Points to reserve this inventory. For more information about how to navigate through reservation screens, refer to the “How it Works” link.

        3. What is the number of nights available for Short Stay exchanges?

        * Short Stay exchanges are available from a minimum of 3 consecutive nights to a maximum of 6 consecutive nights (based on availability). For exchanges longer than 6 nights, you may book multiple Short Stay exchanges (based upon availability) or go to the Exchange tab for 7 night exchanges.

        4. Does the available minimum length-of-stay vary?

        * Yes, the number of nights a resort is available depends on the resort you select and the check-in date requested.

        5. How is the availability determined in the booking engine (how does inventory show up)?

        * When a resort has inventory they can make available to Members, it will appear when Members search for availability in the booking engine. Inventory is on a first come, first-served basis and may become available at any time. The available inventory is updated regularly, so it is recommended that if you find an exchange that interests you, take advantage of the exchange at that time by completing the online booking process.

        6. How far in advance will exchange inventory become available?

        * The majority of Short Stay exchange inventory will be available in the system for stays within 30 days or less from today; however, there will be times when availability could appear for stays more than 30 days from today. Inventory is always changing so please check back often.

        7. Are the resorts available in the Short Stay program different than those available for 7 night exchanges?

        * Yes, inventory may vary between Short Stay exchanges and 7 night exchanges.

        8. How will a resort’s check-in/check-out schedule impact availability?

        * Since most resorts have check-in only on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, it will be unlikely to find a five-day stay that begins on a Wednesday or Thursday. You will experience a greater rate of success in finding accommodations when requesting a weekend check-in date.

        9. What is the cancellation policy for Short Stay exchanges?

        * Short Stay exchanges are final transactions. Points used to make the reservation and the transaction fee are nonrefundable. It is recommended that you verify how many Points you have available prior to completing your exchange online.

        11. If I have an existing 7 night exchange, and I find an acceptable alternate Short Stay, can I cancel my existing 7 night exchange?

        * As the options that show in the Short Stay booking engine are limited in availability, we recommend that you confirm that you have the required Points available for the exchange, and complete the exchange process for the Short Stay. Once confirmed, if you need assistance canceling a reservation, please contact Customer Service.

        16. How do I know how many Points are needed for my exchange?

        * When you begin your search and reach the “Availability” screen, the number of Points necessary for each available Short Stay exchange will be displayed next to each available resort. I don't know if these are part of the DRI short stays or are available II-wide but they would make using II to set up a touring vacation a lot more practical. I would like to find a way to pull just these multiple location weeks up to see if its worth planning a touring trip around them. Has anyone seen any others?
          Cool, I mean hot.
Not seen any others, looks like a package put together by ILX resorts for their low/hot season. Hotel units only.

We just booked a short stay at Marriot Royal Palms in Orlando, Fl. Even though we go down there several times a year, and have used II to book into DVC 2 times last year, we booked into the Marriot for few reasons-
It was cheaper point wise then DRI, even with the Elite saving, and under 59 days.
It was cheaper to pay the $75 exchange fee then to buy internet at a DRI resort, it there had been the room on the dates we needed. Last time I checked at GB and at CPV it was a $25 a day fee for internet. So for 6 day stay it would have been $150 for the internet. Usually I don't bother, but 3 out of 4 of us need it for school work/job(goverment stuff, near the end of the Fis.year). So we saved $75 even with the exchange fee.
However- II told us that we would be able to recieve Marriots reward points by staying there, which is not true for the stay, it is true for any money we spend for food/drink, and other stuff.
