Our owners expect more, and we are happy to deliver.
In keeping with our commitment to meet or exceed the highest standards of guest satisfaction and hospitality, I am pleased to present a new and exciting program that will give owners like you the opportunity to add to the number of points you currently own. Now you can increase your vacation time, the quality of your ownership benefits and the size of accommodations available to you at special owner-only prices. Under our new sales policies, owners who take advantage of this special offer may also receive other special incentives.

There are only a limited number of these specially priced points available, and the developer has reserved the right to withdraw these special prices at any time. This could be the most affordable opportunity you may ever have to increase your points in THE ClubSM.

I would assume these would be trust points only.

is this a sale of the points they took from delinquent (non-deeded) owners?

I called last night and got a rude woman who would not tell me what it was about... she wanted a bunch of info that she should have had with my name/member number. And then she told me that DRI "wasn't for EVERYONE" and hung up. Wasn't happy...
Anyone know what this is about? I did see another topic that has a list of properties other then DRI and prices for them. But it all sounds a little weird, like they re-poed a bunch of random weeks in dozens of other vacation programs. Why would they offer them to "select" members, as the email stated?

Club Select is a sales incentive program to help their salesmen get you over the hurdle of having other timeshares that don't 'fit' with THE Club. They offer to let you deposit the use of those weeks you already own in exchange for an annual allotment of points. This is done manually, annually, and unless you have it in your contract, they don't have to take them, or they have lots of caveats that let them change the rules at any time.

So, these weeks that they've given you valuable points for have to be used. They offer them back to THE Club members for points or cash AND the general public for cash.

            oh.
Thank you. I feel much in-lighten, but dumb at the same time...
I am glad it is a no issue for us. But wish I knew why the DRI lady was so up tight about it all...she made it sound like we needed to take that oppurt. they were offering us or we weren't good enought to be DRI members... so I had the idea, from her, that it was a chance to buy more DRI points cheap. And when I didn't she made the remark that "it isn't for everybody"- she was right, it isn't for everybody!! It isn't some thing I could use, but I am sure some DRI members can, so it will be good for them.

I called and talked to a very nice lady (PM me if you want her name and ext. #). She said that they were making this special offer to current owners because they are in the process of adding lots more resorts (read: BlueGreen) and anticipate the price of points going up. It is for Club points. They want owners to be able to add to their point package before the price increase.

The deal I was offered was 5000 pts for $11,050. She could throw in airline tickets and an II week. I asked about bringing in a resale DRI resort and adding it to the club and she said "absolutely" but couldn't guarantee how long that would be available...but she can do it now. She said the $2995 buy-in for resale is "gone" and they may have taken the option of converting your resale DRI property when you buy more points away from the sales floor (since sales in Sedona told me I couldn't do it) but it is still available through Owner Enhancement. She also offered a smaller - 2500 pt package - for $5750.

That's similiar to what I was told over the phone.

what a lie price is going up due to bluegreen

It's a typical sales pitch they will sale the points for what the market will pay period end of sentence. Never pay out of expectation the price is going up. Not one person who bought in the last year probably paid the same amount to convert or purchase into the trust it's a moving target, and the less you are moved by the sales pitch the better you will be. This just like buying a car be willing to say have a nice day, and take a drive down the street to the next salesman.

Update: Got a follow-up call from Owner Enhancement last night. The price increase due to the purchase of BlueGreen goes into effect Friday....just in case someone was panting to add some more developer points to their portfolio.

                        Hmmmm....

During the call about price increase on DRI points, the rep mentioned something about 2 acquisitions. She knew I knew about BlueGreen...looking at the thread about ILX, I wonder if Diamond is planning on scooping this up.

If there truly is another imminent acquisition Raintree is most likely.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

So what is the BlueGreen acquisition suppose to add?

                              Bluegreen

This is a great acquisition for people on the east coast, the BG resort locations are quite complementary. Raintree on the other hand would improve the west coast better quality than BG resorts although fewer locations and units. In my humble opinion it makes club membership a better value.
