Newbie needs help.

I'm sure you've all seen posts like this before, but here goes...

I have the opportunity to "buy" a 4000/point membership to DRI for 250.01.

After speaking with the customer enhancement/experience? department I found out that in order to upgrade to the club, I would have to purchase 2000 points directly from DRI at close to $7000.
My question is, is 6000 points worth 7000 dollars, or since it's a small point membership, would I be better off just taking the one exchange a week for an off season trust unit and foregoing "the club"?

Only you can decide after reading every post that you can on this site or any others. Overall, 6000 points and THE Club is not bad, I'd want more points so buy two or three Trust contracts then let them charge you $7K.

That's what I was thinking to, but the lady I spoke with said I would have to buy 7000 points for any resale contract I wanted converted.... any news on that yet? Or should I be able to negotiate it?

Allright, thanks. I'll play it by ear for now. I'm looking into a few other options also.
