  • Europe: partial weeks?

I'm thinking about DRI. The greatest appeal of DRI for us is the ability to use the points for a long weekend in Europe. We already do this once or twice a year, but we're using hotels for these jaunts now. But I saw a brief mention in a thread here that suggests that points can't be used for partial weeks in the European affiliated resorts -- true?

I don't know the exact timeline but I do know that some of the European resorts have already switched to nightly availability and they will all be that way in the near future.

Just doing a quickie DRI search, I can pick up 3-day stays for May 2009 in numerous places in Great Britain and France.

        Thanks guys.

New question: I'm now reading that resales are risky insofar as DRI may not accept them into THE Club. Am I correct in thinking I've got to buy through the developer at this point?

All I can say is that DRI, just like their predecessor, tries to make the resale entry into THE Club as nebulous as possible. I have been told by the President that they will let an owner of traditional weeks or one of the Trusts join THE Club for $2995. The Williamsburg Sales Center this past weekend would gladly convert you with the retail purchase of more points.

            More Pts. were required

I was just at the WBurg Sales Center and it was my first time meeting with sales at DRI. I was required to buy at least 3K worth of points. I asked about the outright buyin for $2995 and they said no way, no how, not anymore.

Someone else suggested that you make a resale purchase contingent on being able to convert it... Not sure if this would be possible but it is interesting to think about.
