Still waiting.
After speaking with different CSRs, the last one transfered me to the collections dept. Although this was not the right dept, the girl there seem to know what I was talking about. Took the info, said the correct dept was busy, she would e-mail them and I should receive the form for resignation in two to three weeks. So I am waiting for that, will keep you updated.
I know it's been over a year... but thought I would give info that I recently found out. I too started in the Sunterra Club. Last year I got sucker punched into purchasing DRI points. Since they lied and I've lost my job I hoped for some options. They said pay or sell. Anyway... I got rid of a timeshare I purchased in Mexico, by contacting them, their option was to forfeit what $$ I had put into it and they would cancel my contract. So I asked DRI if that was an option... they said if my contract was paid off, I could walk away... if I hadn't become a DRI member that would be an option. I'm hoping your Sunterra contract is paid off and this is an option for you.
Good Luck!
Thanks for the reply. We were successful in walking away from the whole thing without any further penalty from Sunterra. We forfeited our membership and lost what we had invested, it was paid for upfront... Tough lesson learned.
