Thank you Doug for all your help. I called today and made requests for two consecutive weeks on 2 different islands in Hawaii. Fingers are crossed that I will get something.

I checked today and everything looks fine. Either I saw the wrong thing or there was an issue. I wanted to edit my post though to make it right.
Well today I checked with II and Polo Towers did something to deny my deposit of week 51 into II. I don't see how this can be allowed. I reserved it, it is my week. II says that when they called to do the verifcation PT just would not accept it. Really aggravates me. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Got a call from II and I am now in the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort North for my second week. Im thinking of adding Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club now to my request for the 1st week. I know I wanted another island but this maybe easier to get and cheaper on airfare. It is a honey moon though.
This is my request that is still pending. Looking back I think I should have split up my lockout and just traded the 1br part instead of the whole 2br. Maybe I will win out if one becomes available and two of us are bidding for it because of what I am giving up.

Lawai Beach Resort - Coral Building • LAW

Maybe you'd have received that unit with a 1 bedroom deposit, maybe not. I'd add as many resorts as you're willing to accept to a request. It only increases you chances. But, only request resorts you believe you'll be happy with. Nothing like being disappointed because the exchange you where confirmed into wasn't what you really wanted but what you settled for. Generally speaking, if something pops up, Interval will generally give you a call anyway. For that matter, they're likely to call you asking if they can add additional resorts to your search.
I will say that's one thing nice about DRI's THE Club points based reservation system. You know EXACTLY what an exchange is going to cost. When trading weeks, you're always second guessing your strategy. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

Well the Westin I was able to get with my 08 1br. The 2br is still out there searching. I did end up adding the Marriott so we will see how that goes. If I can't find anything from exchange I do have enough Hilton Points for the Hilton Hawaiian Village if I need to.
Now the fun part of booking airfare

Well yesterday I had a postcard from II that my week was not deposited because PT did not release it. I called PT and they said that it has to be within 90 days to deposit into II. I don't remember this policy but I think this is only the 3rd time I've deposited instead of going to PT. I ended up breaking up the 2br LO into two deposits and II said I would get an AC also. We'll see about that.
Today I may set up my request again for the first week in Hawaii. My wife to be has to work on the Saturday of the first week of the honey moon, so even if I do get a TS week it would only be for Sat or Sun to Friday. I may just save the week and stay at a Hilton and use my points.
The good news is that I think I have enough One Pass miles to upgrade us to 1st class.

Originally posted by brisket loverI argued that too but I don't have any proof. I wonder if it is in my contract somewhere. There has to be a way to fight it.
Just tell them it's you're week, it's a floating reservation system, you reserved a week, you're MFs are paid, there is an agreement in place to use I.I. as the exchange company and they need to release the week. BE PERSISTANT. It's YOUR week. It does NOT belong to Polo Towers. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

The more I think about this, the more there must be something I don't know.
There's just no way I can see PT's telling you that you can't deposit your week with I.I. Looking back I have had problems in the past with PT's denying my deposit but, it seems that generally revolved around my having to pay the MF's in advance and them having difficulty matching all the numbers and dates up. It was always resolved quickly with a phone call. To expadite things a 3 way call was often easiest with me having all of my confirmation numbers, including the payment confirmation # and date the payment was made.
Eventually, I got to the point where I waited until the week I wanted became available (12 months in advance), then called to pay my MF's in advance and then request to reserve and deposit in I.I. While it was more difficult than any of my other ownerships, I was never outright denied the ability to reserve and deposit. The only way they would do that was if my MF's for the unit year I was depositing hadn't been paid.
If you're trying to deposit your 2010 unit, you must pay an amount equal to the 2009 MF's in advance as a deposit against your 2010 MF's. If the MF's go up, they'll bill you for the difference.
If it's not some sort of fee issue, then ask to speak to a supervisor for clarification. Timeshare makes absolutely no sense if you can't deposit and exchange. The ability to exchange is part of the attractiveness of timeshares. Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

If u own a fixed week (suites vs the floating villas), then there is some policy where u need to relinguish your week to II x amt of weeks before your week, otherwise you need to use it or book something else (in the same year?) At polo, but I think you only can book some last-minute reservation since you gave up your own week so late as well. Basically equal trades. I never done this (I always call 10-12 mos prior to my fixed week) pay my mf and dump the week into II, but recall a convo with with polo reservations some time ago.
Now being in the club I don't care about this anymore. I pay my m/f by Jan 1st and I am set. All the while I can use my annual club pts prior to Jan 1st? As a matter of fact - made all my 2009 reservations by about June 2008, but did not pay my 2009 m/f's until last week of Dec 2008.
