    $250? That is ridiculous

You can send them the deed back, transfer the deed to them "in lieu of foreclosure." They told me it was $80-100.

First, that is even too much. Basically you are recording a document in the county where the deed is that you no longer own that property, Diamond Resorts does. I called the particular county where my deed is registered, and the fee is $10. So I called Diamond Resorts. After questioning their fee and the fact that I can record the document in the county for $10, they gave up and told me to just send the deed directly to them, no fee.

They are trying to get money from all members, even when they no longer want to be members. We are not in communist China. They cannot force you to be a member if you've paid for the deed.

This is my opinion only. Sounds like a win - win situation for Diamond.

Now if the timeshare consumer community majority starts to complains in huge numbers and the newspapers, television media picks this up. Is this good public relation for any firm selling timeshare?

Is their any Update on DRI Deed Backs?

I have 13,500 Diamond points in the US Collection and
3,500 Diamond points in the Hawaii Collection I would giveaway for free to anyone rather than pay DRI to take them back.

If anyone has deeded back to Diamond recently please share your experience.

I just talked to loss mitigation yesterday. For $85 and a notary, they are willingly taking back my deeded week (it's paid in full and I've already used the 2010 week). They are mailing me the warranty deed to sign.

I've been trying to "give away" the week for the last 7+ months, but no takers. There's a $250 resort transfer fee that I think scares them off. Not to mention MF of $740 for a 1 bedroom!

Why don't you post the contact info for someone in that department.. Perhaps others will have an easier route to liquidation if you show them the way..

I didn't get the individual's name, but the direct number to Loss Mitigation is 1-800-279-7764. I just mentioned I saw Celia D's post on Diamond's Forums about deedback possibilities and explained my situation (basically I've been trying to give it away since January, I'm currently paid up, but future maint fees will be a problem and I can't afford an (extra) vacation anyway), and they happily told me I could deed it back.

Just a note, last fall or winter, I had asked about a deedback and they wanted $250 plus paid 2010 maint fees with NO USE to deed it back. Celia had mentioned there are different "packages" each year, so who knows how it will change in 2011. Maybe THEY will pay YOU to deed it back in 2011??

DRI Will not take back my points.

I am new to this Forum. I have 12500 points with DRI I was curious about the above post so I called and iquired about it. The lady I talked to acted like she did not know about a Mutual release agreement(MRA). I told her what I read on-line she then told me that you have to be delinquent in you MF payments before this would even be an option. She also told me they are not obligated to send an MRA to someone. I am wanting to get rid of my 12500points so if someone knows how to get rid of them I would appreciate any info you could give me. MF's are getting ridiculous.

If you are willing to "give" away your points, someone here may offer to take them off your hands.

Did you talk to loss mitigation? I've never heard of the MRA myself. I mailed my warranty deed back last month and it looks like they're still processing. they just cashed my $85 check so I'll probably call soon.

DRI will not take back my timeshare.

I did not talk to loss mitigation, I just called a cutomer service representative.
I would be willing to give away my points if someone is interested.
