Is there a special? Discounted points at Sedona Summit

According to the points directory, Sedona Summit is 4500 points minimum during most of the year. It appears everything's 75% off within 59 days and 50% off until the end of the year. I called customer service and they really couldn't tell why or how long it would last. The rep said that resorts sometimes discount their points when they're very underbooked (really?!). He said there was no special that he knew of.

I'm trying to plan a trip in the fall and if I'll have enough points at 75% or if I should just book now.

Get the trip planned out and book right away.

The specials come and go. However, if too many people take advantage of them before you do, its history!!!

I say book IMMEDIATELY and cancel outside the 90 day window if you change your mind.

Ditto on the advice if they are 75% off the regular points value. Look at booking two weeks for the cost of one week.

Well it's not so simple. I'm trying to use up remaining points and only have enough for a weekend trip at 75% off. There is plenty of availability for the next 2 months, but of course, it's blazing hot in Sedona right now! I'd much rather go in October when it's cooler, but the question is...will those dates even be 75% off? Right now they're showing 50% (and lots of availability), but I don't know why! But I'd rather go to Sedona in the heat than loose the points, just wish I knew the rhyme or reason!

Some times it may be 50% now when it gets to 59 days it stays at 50% I have had that happen to me before.

The CLUB runs monthly specials, and yes, they are sometimes 75% off. Right now it shows Sedona Summit at 75% off now through August.

See the sticky "DRI THE Club - Specials and/or offers" for the link to the current specials...make sure to go to the last page of posts.

We all SHOULD be getting a monthly email with the link, I used to get the email, then all the sudden stopped getting the email many months ago. I've been trying to get DRI to fix the problem ever since and they say, you are set up to receive emails, check your spam blocker, etc and I'm still not getting monthy special emails. I am very greatful that DAVE7 continues to post the specials to this sticky!
