I currently have 6,500 DRI points and am looking to add another 3,000 or so. I am NOT a Club member right now but own in the Florida Trust.
My question is this--if I buy an additional 3,000 points in the Florida Trust, will DRI combine them all together, or will I only be able to book up to 3,000 points from one account and 6,500 from another? I guess I could separately book hotels and combine the points that way but it would be "nicer" if they were combined since they are in the same Trust.
I then want to convert to the Club later at some point and so far there seems to be all sorts of confusion aout this. It sounds like sometimes DRI lets you do it for $3,000 and other times they require you to buy additional points to do this. I don't want to buy any additional points because once I'm near 10,000 pts I don't want any higher maintenance fees. So I'm hoping I can still just pay for the Club membership and be done with it.
My only other option seems to be buying 10,000 points resale and then selling my 6,500...but that's a huge pain too because it seems to take DRI forver to process the paperwork even when you can find a buyer.
Thanks for the help!
