If you want to go to Europe and like points, Hapimag, the world's oldest timeshare deverloper, is probably a better bet, as they have a better stable of resorts than DRI. Willkommen bei Hapimag - Hapimag, Ihre eigene Ferienwelt Hapimag does not trade through RCI or II, but does trade at least for some of its resorts through DAE.

DRI signalled it was going backward in Europe when it closed and sold its London resort, Carlton Court. London is one of the most high demand / low supply areas in all of timesharing and DRI bailed out of it. Hapimag's London resort is still going strong, as are its other urban resorts around Europe.

If I must compare apples with oranges:

      1. Los Amigos Beach Club is like Historic Powhatan. IMO, it is better than Cypress Pointe but not as good as Grand Beach (based on the model I saw a few years ago). Los Amigo is a "real" resort with pools, sauna, tennis court and other organized activities to occupy us for a week without leaving the property.

      2. Royal Regency is like Westgate at South Beach. Both in an urban area and kind of a boutique type of resort without much activities or services.

      3. Le Manoir des Deux Amants is like Pocono or Oak N Spruce (I don't think DRI has anything similar; I have not been to Smokey Mt.) It is in a remote area but easy access to bigger towns and services in 20-30 minutes. It is a quiet resort with indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

      4. Palazzo Catalani - nothing in US I have visited comparable to PZZ. This place is a must.

All 4 resorts are clean, comfortable and quite spacious (except PZZ). All except Spain doesn't have air conditioning (can't remember if Royal Regency has airconditioning. I went there in winter). All have burner type of kitchen and comfortable beds.

This is very much appreciated. Thank you.

It gives me an idea as to what to kind of expect in the form of amenities. I know in general from the times I have been to Europe that their standards are not the same as ours as it comes to hotel accommodations. When people are saying a place is great, I don't want to come in thinking I am going to have Marriott timeshare type of acccommodations.

        Thanks again.
