My Favourite Spanish resorts
In Tenerife - My favourite is Royal Sunset Beach Club which has lots of nice restaurants around and a lovely promenade to walk along to the large harbour (Marina), good quality too, good reports are coming in for Sunsey Bay which is in the same resort this is a little hilly though. For quality I understand that The Royal Tenerife Country Club is hard to beat but it is somewhat isolated and you would need a car - But Very close to the airport and it is quite windy here in this area of Tenerife - Great for Golfers though as right on course.
With regards to Costa Del Sol - only one resort really ticks the boxes with regards to good quality (book an elite unit if you can with jacuzzi on balcony) and that is Los Amigos Beach club - Don't be fooled by name though as it is close to the coast but the beach here is terrible - only a short 10 minute bus ride to Fuengirola though which is a lovely traditional Spanish resort (buses are cheap and frequent) and from Fuengirola you can explore many nice places by bus or train (don't miss Fuengirola zoo).
With regards to Balerics - Minorca is my favourite and White Sands Beach club scores 10 for location but sadly only 6 for quality of apartments (albeit I have not been there for 5 years so apartments may have been upgraded).
Hope this helps
