  • First Right of Refusal Experiences?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience picking up Diamond Resorts points cheap on E-Bay or some other resale site, and have DRI exercise their first right of refusal?

Or on the other hand if you have bought cheap, and the transaction went through with no problems, I would be interested in knowing how many points you purchased and for how much $$. That would be good info to know as well.

    Thanks!

I have only been on this site for the last 24 hours and already feel like my knowledge of timeshares has doubled.

First of all take it slow learn before you buy it may save you money and heartache.

I had an Embassy Kaanapali in escrow about 5 years ago and they used 1st right of refusal on me. I think it was Sunterra management at that time. Now I am glad they did. I bought the Carlsbad Inn instead. I do not think from what I have read recently that the first right of refusals are being used as much by the developers in the current economy.

We should close soon on a deeded annual use week at Point at Poipu. We picked it up very cheap (under $500) on eBay and diamond did not exercise their right of first refusal. We got an email on a monday saying it was being sent to diamond and we should get an answer in 2-4 weeks. 2 days later on a wednesday we got another email saying diamond did not exercise ROFR and it would be going to recording. Crossing fingers is should close very soon. It has been 2 months since winning the auction.

I didn't think that DRI had a ROFR clause in any of their contracts.

They do at their Hawaii Resorts weeks contracts.
