  • What DRI Florida resorts have you enjoyed?

Preferrably in the Orlando area, but would be interested in hearing feedback about the other properties as well.

We have 2 children under the age of 3, so anything kid-friendly is definitely a plus.

    Thanks!

We have been to Cypress Pointe 1&2 and last year we finally purchased at our favorite of them all - Grand Beach Phase 1.

Just noticed the kids part of the original question . . .

Ours are 10, 9, 8 and loved all the resorts. Very hard to say which one more. Cypress Pointe 1's Volcano Pool is a huge hit. At grand beach they like walking the grounds, they love the lake, fishing, etc. We like the space of the 3BR units and prefer non-lockouts of Phase I, although we own both. Grand Beach might be better centered for quick access to everything, but its only a matter of a few city blocks.

Grand Beach is the Place You want to be

Last year I went to Florida looking specifically for a DRI timeshare in the Orlando area for my family including in-laws, nieces and extended family to stay and have a good time. I stayed in Cypress Pointe and visited the Polynesian Isle and the Grand Beach. After seeing the Grand Beach, I was convinced that it was the perfect place with something for everyone. I placed a review on this site. Grand Beach should be a great place for all ages with 2 pools, lake for fishing, boat rentals (not owned by DRI) and barbecue grills, volleyball and tennis courts and activities for the kids.

The rooms are huge and have everything you need. Grand Beach I rooms have been refurbished.

You can't go wrong except the charge for Wifi.

This place is also very close to Disney. You will love it.

Polynesian Isles is very, very quiet and the grounds are very well taken care of. They are in the process of refurbishing the rooms. It is aso pretty quiet too. Cypress Pointe is nice too with its great pool. However, I like the Grand Beach's enviornment.

We like Cypress Pointe because of its location to all the amusement parks and places to eat out.

If you're looking for fun and things to do, choose Grand Beach. It's a nice property and close enough to all major parks and attractions. Polynesian Isles is very quiet and there's not alot to do there. It's also about 10 minutes further away from Disney, Sea World and other attractions. We stayed at Polynesian Isles this year to relax after a week at Disney and appreciated the quiet. But it was like a ghost town. In the middle of summer, it appeared that fewer than 20 percent of the units were occupied.

Another vote for Grand Beach, we stay there at least 2xs a year, and have for the last 5 to 7 years.
BUT the trip we just returned home from 6 days ago showed some problems...
The refridg. had the door opening the wrong way, towards the exit door, and the bottom shelf had to veggie drawers for a different model that caused the shelf to fall out and spill out food.
The couch in the living room had a hide a bed that had is starting to fall causing the cushins to fit badly, making it very uncomfortable to sit on. One of the chairs had a broked frame...
The tile floor make EVERY little noise in the unit above you echo...echo...echo...
BUT the grounds are great! The front desk takes care of stuff instantly, or tries to, and most of the people are very helpfull... maybe not so much as they had been in the last few years, for some reason.

Cypress Point has very, very snotty people working the front desk. If you are Elite status don't even bother telling them. We stay there at least 1 to 2 times a year, when we can't get into GB or Poly, or they have a great deal on points. It is not as clean as it used to be, slow to respond to problems in the units, and starting to smell.

The Poly units are older, but nice-they do need the update, glad it is happening. The management is very helpfull, and front desk is great. Some of the security guards are a littl rude... or were when we were there in July of this year. I do like the Security on the front gate. For some reason the resort smells like mold at times or bleach, but this is starting to change. Love the grounds, it reminds me of the Disney hotel that has a simliar name.... only not so elebrate, very nice grounds. Units are set up nicely, most like small apartments, living rooms are mod. size, 2nd bedrooms are much larger then Cypress and a little bigger then GB.
