I want to do a Ski trip to Park City, Utah for Feb / Mar of 2011. Just noticed that DRI has an affilliate resort there.

What chance, if any, is there of getting a reservation for late Feb or the 1st week of March in 2011 at this affilliate resort? I'd be thrilled to pony up 7000 points for a 3BR unit in Ski Season!

As of today, I can see some availability in DRI Club though Summer 2010.

How far in advance should availability show? Shouldn't I be seeing Nov 2010 right now - 13 months?

This is a Raintree property, and the inventory is limited. Based on what I have observed in looking for and booking ski vacations at Diamond affiliates properties in Whistler I would expect:

1. Little to no inventory will be available in peak season. Some inventory will likely show towards the end of the ski season, about the last week of March.

2. The inventory that is available will most often be in smaller units - studio and 1-bedroom units.

I'm not sure what the timing is for when inventory appears. I'm sure it all depends on when the two systems decide to swap inventory. Looking at the Vacation Internationale inventory in DRI, I see availability appearing and disappear.

That said, there are few small units at this resort, so IF something comes available, it will likely be a larger unit.

All true, especially the part about inventory swaps. Both systems really only do this to be able to put the others fancy resorts in their catalog. There is no guarantee that a unit week will be provided for every week of the year, in fact, you will seldom see the Prime/Holiday inventory and there is no way to predict when it will show if they do. Try the 'waitlist' and tell us how it works (if it's available for affiliate resorts?)

Affiliate Availability is Ten Months Out

Interesting news to report back . . .

I spoke to Club this AM and was informed that I must call 10 months out for Affiliate Resorts. Assuming I want the week of Feb 26-Mar 5 of 2011, I must call Club on Apr 26th 2010 and request it. If there is no availability, then I can be placed on the waiting list.

So, Affiliate Resort visibility and availability is only 10 months out.

I stuck a note in my calendar to check online beginning April 19th. I'm flexible enough that I'll pretty much take anything I can get anytime after that. I plan to physically call Club on 4/26 (if I've booked nothing online up to then). In the past, they have seen some things we can not. I don't want to miss this one!
