What are the chances of Disney switching back to Interval? Has anyone heard anything. How long have they been with RCI, is it 3 years in 2011.. I cannot remember. I am hoping they make the switch back!

I am not sure how long it has been but I wish they would go back to II also. I haven't had any luck with trades since they went with RCI. I own DVC and really enjoyed our Marriott swaps but that won't happen now!

I'd guess that the chance of them switching back in less than 5 years is < 1%. After 5 years who knows?

Wish they'd come back to II, too. My DD and her boyfriend hope to perform for the 2011 summer season at one of the parks and it would be nice to stay in an onsite TS when we visit them.

In case they don't switch back you could always rent points from a DVC owner. I've seen people renting points as low as $8 recently.
You also might want to do a direct swap with a DVC owner. I'm doing such an exchange this year with DVC with a Bluegreen owner.

Looks to me like DVC is playing the game "what outfit gives more". Sooner or later there will be a controversy with RCI or DVC members will make significant complaints and they will switch back to II again (or perhaps another company).

tony is on the right track. However, it has nothing to do with the Members, and it has more to do with what sort of deal is made for DVC as a management company in terms of fees, inventory management, and any rental agreements for developer-owned inventory.

Merilyn - I have so many Marriott points now that we should just work together again if you want to stay at a Marriott. We are always up for a Disney trip. Now that Marriott has points, getting what we want within the Marriott system is MUCH easier. Just let me know!

Just the opposite for me. Couldn't touch them in II but no problem to get them with RCI, particularly since they went to the TPU plan.

Ha Ha Ha Robin - wasn't a surprise at all that you posted this. Looks like you and I are still on the "please bo back to II train!" I own a unit that is dual and I think I'm going to test the water with RCI in 2013 with a portion of that unit. Just to get back to DVC Vero Beach!!!!

Chance of return to II anytime soon near zero. The deal they got from RCI is likely outstanding in favor of DVC. And that, not members, is always #1 with DVC. And that assumes most members want to go to II which isn't likely either (see two post before this).
