Does anyone know if people trading INTO DVC (i.e. non-DVC members) are allowed to purchase the dining plan at WDW?

Yes you can, but I believe you need to call Disney before you arrive to arrange it.

So once it is determined that I got my dates, will RCI go ahead and work out the room details, etc with Disney directly, or will they put me in contact with Disney and I'll be responsible for those details myself? Either way, I suppose I'll just call them directly to make sure everying went smoothly with the transaction.

Your confirmation from RCI will include an 800-phone number for Disney Vacation Club. Call it, identify yourself as an RCI exchanger and ask for help making arrangements for your trip. You'll speak with someone who handles incoming exchanges.

They will verify your exchange confirmation and then help with Magic Express shuttle plans, dining plan selection and reservations, etc. They prefer that you contact them at least 3 weeks ahead of check-in for shuttle plans and at least 3 days ahead for dining plan selection. The earlier you call, after exchange confirmation, the better. HTH.

Perfect Lisa, that's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much!

Do you know where you will want to eat? Because you are both experienced WDWers, you may have an excellent idea. At the same time, you have never been to WDW on your honeymoon before, so maybe you are up for something a little different?

Now I am all into your koolaid about getting nice romantic dinner interludes - some suggestions =

San Miguel - the food is okay, but the romance is FANTASTIC. I love the volcano and the twinkling lights and seeing the boats go by.

Marrakesh - what is more romantic than a belly dancer? And the food here is fantastic!

Rose and Crown at 7:45 so you can watch illuminations while eating dessert.

Those are my favorites for Epcot.

I love the booths at Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios. It is a 2 credit.

I cannot think of any place romantic at the Magic Kingdom. Artsts Point is lovely at Wilderness Lodge and it is a short boat ride from MK. It is a 2 credit.

I prefer the atmosphere at Citrico's to Narcoossee's (I always feel like I am in a really expensive boarding school cafeteria at Narcoossee's). I have never been to Victoria and Albert's and I probably never will.

I have never eaten at the Animal Kingdom.

I also like the atmosphere at Raglan Road, but it is not on the dining plan any longer.

            Happy planning!

In my personal opinion, none of the signature (2 credit) meals are particularly worth it, considering we can do our *nicer* meals on the cruise. Or seven credits (as it stands now) will be used for:

              Rose & Crown (Epcot)
Crystal Palace (Character Breakfast @ Magic Kingdom)
              Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
              Sanaa (Animal Kingdom Villas)
              Les Chefs de France (Epcot)
Raglan Road (Downtown Disney, back on the dining plan)
Paradiso 37 (Not on 2010 plan, we'll see if it's added in 2011)

                Those look like excellent choices.

I have never eaten at Sanaa. My son and his wife ate there while on there honeymoon and loved it.

And Raglan Road I am thrilled to see back on the Dining Plan. It is my favorite restaurant in WDW.
