DVC western sales are now concentrated on Aulani, the new Disney resort under construction in Ko Olina, Hawaii, which began sales a few months ago. The first phase of Aulani is scheduled to open on August 29, 2011.
Don't know if They will push it to exchange pool or not.

Boca, please let us know when they open what it likes. Thanks

I'm not so sure. It's a small resort by DVC standards (48 2BRs and 2 3BRs) Sales started August '08, so a little more than two years to sell it out, or a little less than 25 units per year.

Compare that to SSR, which has 528 2BRs and 24 3BRs. It opened for sales in 2004, I think (May '04 was it's opening date, so it might have started in sales in '03) and closed out in summer of '08. (It re-opened for the Treehouse Villas sometime in '09.) Figure five years (it was probably less), or an average of about 110 units per year. True, the GCV units are more point-heavy, but not 4x point heavy.

Interesting article with info on attendance at California Adventure and the proposed renovations for next year.. Makes you wonder how long before Disney expands the DVC presence there...

Disney park boosts hotels over 10 years | boosts, disney, hotels - The Orange County Register

............Disney and tourism officials are hopeful that the $1 billion makeover project, set to be completed next year, will draw even more tourists.

“It strengthens the park and it will begin to be treated as a draw in and of itself, as opposed to a piece packaged along with the original park,” said Charles Ahlers, president of Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Center. “It is going to cause people to want to go to California Adventure and experience what’s new.”

Disney California Adventure attendance figures from AECOM Economics:

            2001: 5,000,000

            2002: 4,700,000

            2003: 5,311,000

            2004: 5,630,000

            2005: 5,830,000

            2006: 5,950,000

            2007: 5,680,000

            2008: 5,566,000

            2009: 6,050,000
