How do the new fast pass works? Also, can you buy a ticket to M K to get one in later afternoon or early evening and then able to come back the next day? Or is that at some other park.

I wish I could speak from experience but haven't tried out the new fastpass system yet but did
use the magic bands and the new Disney app.
I do know that if you stay on site then you get a Magic Band and Disney will mail you instructions
on how to link your reservations with their new "Disney Experience" app.
With the app you can make your fastpass reservations and dinner reservations.
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/pl...e/mobile-apps/
I crashed my old iphone trying to upgrade the operating system so I could use it so be
forewarned if you have to upgrade.
I found the app a little glitchy but it had literally just been released the week we got there.
If you have trouble with it linking ressies just call member services and they can do it for you.
I found the planning part helpful.
It tells you when all the parades, shows, fireworks etc. are playing while you are there.
For example it told us when the jazz band was playing in the lobby in the Grand Floridian.
Lots of lesser shows that you would usually miss if you didn't have the app to remind you.
Sorry couldn't be of more help with the fastpasses.
Visit one of the Disney sites for more up to date info.
I like Mouseowners. They have info on the new fastpass there.

The new fast pass works best if the park is not crowded......The system was in place when I last visited. If we got to the park early, we were able to get tickets for the rides we wanted, but later in the day, they were always gone.
You need to go to the Kios Station, or to a Kios person, (which are located throughout the parks) and they will check to see if the rides/times that you want are available. If so, they give you up to 3 passes per day. They scan your park ticket to keep track of the passes. Also, they ask you take a picture of their computer screen, with your phone, once you get your tickets, in order to keep track of the rides/times of your passes.
One thing that I learned during my visit was to take any time available at a ride I was interested in, even if it wasn't the time I was looking for......Times can be changed during the day, (ride choices, too) and you won't be locked out of getting a ticket because they're all gone for the day.
Also, I think you need to get all 3 tickets at once. You can't add a ticket later in the day....I'm pretty sure, anyway?Angela
If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Thats great, and will make a huge difference! I wasn't able to do that on my last visit.
