Thanks for sharing that. Been kind of avoiding Disney stuff, but enjoyed the reminder. Since hubby became head of his department, between that and ballet it's gotten too tough to juggle everyone's schedule in order to get to Florida for two weeks, and it's no fun going home after one, so we're not going this year. But once my ballet kid is aged out of "company", we're heading out for a "Disney resort" vacation in the fall, and then a "Disney Parks" vacation in the spring. When I say Disney resort I don't mean we'll stay in one -- I'm thinking Wyndham Bonnet Creek instead -- because I don't think their 2 BRs are well designed for my crew and I'm not paying for a 3 BR, but I am thinking I might stay onsite at Riverside in a Princess room with the girls for a night or two, just for the pools. And of course we plan to ride the boat to Downtown Disney.

Have you tried out the "Saratoga Bridge"? Hearing about that maybe excited me more than when I heard about Disney Springs. While many of us have different favorites, as a group my family likes Saratoga the best of all the Disney resorts. Think about staying there right regular, but the units are so small! *sigh* Hubby and I will get out there eventually, I expect. Well, barring disaster between now and when we're traveling with fewer kids. *knock wood* Looks like a terrific place to take little ones!

coincidentally, we were just there over New Year's week and stayed at Saratoga Springs. I will say that we had a wonderful time. This isn't my favorite resort - I prefer either Beach Club or Boardwalk because of the location. But both Laurie and I really like the resort itself. We like the landscaping, the uncrowded feel of a really large resort, and the general feel.

We did get over to the new Disney Springs area several times, and we both walked and took the boat. The new bridge is a fantastic improvement over the old walking route - makes the walk very easy and comfortable. As for the Springs area itself: very impressive! They are doing a terrific job, and although they still have a ways to go, the results thus far are wonderful! Very well laid out, lots of stuff to do, and it really ties the West Side are to the old Downtown. I'm sure the businesses over there are ecstatic!

Hobbitess, I didn't see the bridge yet but glad stan2u was able to fill us in.

I did tour the Poly units at the SSR DVC Preview center, but it was already dark and we didn't really see much of the resort.
We were just so exhausted by then that we went back to OKW and crashed, well sort of crashed after we hit the hot tub.
SSR is my home resort so I kind of know in the back of my mind that I can always go back.
Hopefully October's ongoing comes thru and I get my choice of resort.
