  • GF or Polynesian on RCI ?

Any word on when the GF or the Polynesian will become available for trade on RCI ? I know the Poly is brand new to DVC so it will be a long while....just curious what kind of time period before these 2 show up in RCI.

    thanks

Oh it will be quite a while before they start showing up.
VGF is still selling so I doubt we will see much in RCI.
I would imagine that VGF and Poly owners won't be using RCI much if at all.

For $16 a point why bother with RCI.
I just bought some Poly points myself and RCI will NEVER see them!

You'd be surprised how a smaller contract that you use to bank and borrow can get you lots of Disney time.
Of course it helps if you life in FL where you can take off on a whim and the mouse usually has someplace to say "Welcome home".
I know it's corny but I never tire of them saying "Welcome Home" because it truly feels like my second home.
Whoever came up with that is a genius. LOL

Given the current DVC deposit strategy, I would not expect much in the way of exchange inventory at either of these two, even after they are added.

I know - I expect that they will be impossible.... but one can hope - rt ? I was more curious how long it takes before it would even be in RCI.

                You meant $160 a point, didn't you?

Just don't want anyone getting confused about what DVC costs. Boy, those Polynesian points are pricey! I'll stick with my Boardwalk Villas points!

Purchasing is $160, renting them out is $16.
I meant why bother giving or exchanging them to RCI when I can get $16 a point renting them.

Still not a great ROI. Dues are about $6, so you net $10. That's a pre-tax return of 6.25%.

I don't think most people buy Disney as an "investment".
I do know a few mega renters who did. I'm not that brave.
We all know how these developers can put the brakes on renting anytime and mess with your business plans.:roll eyes:

Disney does have a 20 reservation maximum per year. I'm sure there are ways around it.
But it's nice to know that you get something more than just MF's for your money when you can't use your points and need to rent them.
Can't say the same with my other ownerships although my "investment" in them is nil compared to what I paid for DVC.
It's certainly not for everyone but works nicely if you live near Disney. I probably wouldn't buy if I lived out of state.
Same goes for most of my ownerships come to think of it.
