Anybody buy a DVC through them? Any info will be appreciated.

In another place and another time I did an investigation of an individual who to say the least was an ethically challenged rodent.
It also turned out that this individual who secretly trolled TUG for business was the registered agent for the Timeshare Store in Georgia among other things. I do not recommend against doing business with this company, but I do recommend that you deal with them carefully and cautiously.
"They say" one bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch, but I'm not sure they knew what they were talking about.Comment

I have no financial or personal ties with TTS other that they sold two DVC WVL contracts for me last year. I actually made a $3,000 profit on each contract (after all expenses we taken) and they sold both contracts within 3 weeks. I bought DVC from Disney in 2001 and sold via TTS in 2005.

I have both purchased and sold a DVC contract through the Timeshare Store in Orlando. We were very happy with them. Our agent was named Jerry, but if we called and he was not in, there was always someone who could get our info for us and keep us up to date.
Another great source for Disney is Seth Nock. He helped us get a small contract which actually came from GMAC. We were very hesitant to do business with GMAC and they weren't answering our emails promptly regarding a contract for sale. Seth got the ball rolling for us.

Seth is also a reputable Marriott sales rep. He was a moderator here but Ken had removed him because he was cleaning house and saw that Seth never logs in or posts. It is always a good idea to be cautious when dealing with any resale company. Remember that the people in timeshare sales are sales sharks and there are a lot of unethical people involvedComment

We bought our current timeshare resale through GMAC and got a great deal on it. Jerry is assigned to me at TTS. My DH and I are still contemplating whether to buy through them or DVC. With DVC I think we only have Saratoga as a choice to buy. With TTS, there are many choices. We're not sure how to buy a Disney Resale. Is it the same as buying a regular timeshare resale?Comment

It is not true that you are limited only to Saratoga when buying directly through Disney. If you buy the minimum of l50 points, you can still buy at the sold out resorts if they have availability. They have been pulling a lot of ROFR lately so I am assuming they have availability. If not you can be put on a waitlist. Going direct through disney is pretty painless, there is no closing fee's and your in the system pretty quickly. Going resale, the price per point is cheaper but you do pay closing and you play the ROFR game (right of first refusal) and it takes awhile to get in the system. With all that being said I did the resale route. I bought from Shontell Crawford at DVCbyresale.com and have nothing but high regard for her. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Disney has historically set and reset the price per point at which they will exercise their ROFR. So when you make a deal, you can't be sure you have a deal.Comment

I second what Laurie said about being able to purchase resorts other than Saratoga Springs direct from Disney. As long as you are purchasing at least 150 points and they have the points available, you can purchase at any resort. We just did an add on in July and at the time they had Hilton Head, Boardwalk Villas, Old Key West, Vero Beach and Wilderness Lodge available. Beach Club Villas was the only one with a wait list. If the sales person tells you different, be firm and tell them you know they can sell you other resorts. For some strange reason some sales people have a problem with selling the other resorts, while other sales people have no problems with it. I wonder if they get a higher commission on Saratoga sales?
This is how they sell the points that they pick up through ROFR. It is also probably another factor on how Disney chooses which contracts to do the ROFR on.
We spoke with Jason frequently when Jerry wasn't around and he was always very helpful.
