AKV sales starts today...anybody buying?

AKV points go on sale today for existing DVC members.

We haven't decided yet if we will buy in or not. Love the Lodge, Bomas, etc. but don't think we need more points.

Maybe we will sell our BWV points and buy AKV.

Anyone buying?

I didn't mean to offer my BWV ( Boardwalk villas) points for sale on my post....sorry about that.

I was just thinking that we may reallocate and sell our BWV points to buy AKV (Animal Kingdom villas) points.

The AKV points are on sale right now to existing members only for $101 per points with an $8 credit so really $93 per point.

Congratulations, Becky. I'm a big Disney fan but have only been to WDW twice. Being a left-coaster, I'm more interested in a DVC at Disneyland. But I would love to exchange into AKL sometime down the road. Meanwhile, I'll just keep reading the reports & reviews & dream about our trip to Orlando next year!

We just took the tour last week for Animal Kindom and were on the fence for buying...but did not do it yet.

The sales sheet is $104/pt and if you put at least 10% down you get an $8/pt reduction in price

Here is the kicker:
There are views with thie property so letst take a 1 BR Magic Week in July
Value Accomodation ~ 189
Standard View ~ 225
Savanna View ~ 268
Killimanjaro Club Concierge ~ 313

I am totally new to all this and still considering who to buy from and how many pts I truly need but it seemed like a lot to get to see the animals for a week we would pay the $28K then a maintence fee of $1200...perhaps I would be better off buying elsewhere and trading in??? Who knows.

the key to DVC is not to stay for a week.

only stay the 5 days - Sun-thurs (leaving on Fri) that are the cheaper points.

now I can drive - so those of you who must fly and it is cheaper to fly for a week than 5 days - well you can stay in a WDW resorts paying cash.

or don't buy DVC.

staying at AKV this Sept. but not buying - hoping for CRV to be announced in the next year or two.

don't have enough money for both. even consider selling some of my OKW to get CRV. if the annoucement has a good bargin for CRV.
