    Hello, my name is Jim.
I wondering if my family was the only one having trouble getting reservations @ my dvc home resort ? Also could some one explain the 2% for cash law in the state of florida member services said affected my ability to reserve.

I'm confused I could not reserve my home resort with my points but could make reservations on disney.com as if I wasn't a dvc memeber. It just seems odd to me.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi,

We're DVC members and have been for over 5 years. We've never been shut out on a reservation but we plan early. I usually use our 11 month booking window at our home resorts to get what I want. But, a few weeks ago I called for a reservation for June for our daughter and was able to get a studio at SSR. Here's a link from the DVC Dis boards that talks about inventory:

When are you trying to book your trip? Are you calling member services? Are you taking advantage of the 11- to 7 month home resort booking advantage?

We have been members for 10+ years now.
Lst year we tried 10 months in advance, this spring was only 4 months, this last time was 9 months.Calling member services each time.
It was much to my surprise to hear about the " Florida " 2% law. Which I can't seem to find any info about.
I may have to dig out the paperwork from when we purchased.

Thank you for the link that was posted. It does not however state that it is Florida law as memeber services explain to me.
