  • Old Key West, 3br Grand Villa

We checked into Old Key West yesterday into a 3br, 4 bath Grand Villa unit. We had to snag this one a while back when it was just sitting there saying "take me, take me."

I had seen the 3br unit at Saratoga Springs when we toured there a while ago and I remember being blown away by that unit. So, I was very surprised at the reaction my entire family had when we got to our unit.

This place feels more like a house than a condo. When you walk into the entry foyer, to your immediate right are the stairs to take you to the second floor of the unit. Looking forward you see the great room which serves as the living room and to the right of the stairs, there is the kitchen and dining room.

The unit has an old key west feel to it. Very reminiscent of the unit we were in last year with the exception of the upstairs and the great room. The person checking me into the resort told me that it is roughly 2400 sq ft.

There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs. There a 2 queen bedrooms in each of these units. This unit can sleep up to 12 people with plenty of room to spare.

I took a bunch of pictures, but they really didn't come out very well. The pictures don't do justice to the unit.

We have a terrific view of a lake in the back. It's nice and peaceful here and that man made lake seems as natural as you can do it.

    Very nice. Very very nice.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

      Boca,
I've seen them and they defy description. The one I saw was like a soaring townhouse.
When I took the DVC tour, of course, they take you to them and the WOW factor is there.
You're the only person that I sort of know that has stayed there.
      Good for you !
      Enjoy,
      B

Nice report, Boca. That is incredible that you snagged that on a trade. I've only seen a Grand Villa once on Interval. Glad you got it.

We'll be at OKW in about 3 1/2 weeks. I can't wait. Yipee.

Boca, did you have to deposit a 3 bedroom to see this offered?

I wonder that all the time because I have seen them twice with the 2 bedroom Foxruns but always with check-in dates very close, so Flexchange played a part in the sighting.

Beautiful pictures and so much room for a family! I love the full-sized washer and dryer in the Old Key West units because when the grown kids go with us, we can do a full-sized load every day.

Angela's sightings are priceless and one of the main reasons I continue to visit this board. There are many nice people here and I appreciate every one of you.

Thanks Angela and Jim! I hope to stay at this place one of these days! We were in a 2BR at OKW, and it was fantastic!

and you know how to make it work for your family but Angela is the best. How many nice vacations has she given to so many people here by spotting these condos day after day. Thanks Angela.

                            Easy,

My oldest is in private school, so he stayed with Grandparents and didn't come along. The two younger ones got permission from their schools to go and we brought their homework. My wife home schooled my kids for a year, so she has experience in doing it.

Typical September in Florida, hot and humid. Not a problem for me since I spend most of time online, on the phone, watching sports or eating. lol.

Got to meet JudyS in person who was in Orlando. We have an idea we are going to try for DVC. We'll see if anything comes out of it.
