I don't own DVC but exchange in often thru II - it is wonderfully convenient to stay on property - for the one or 2 days I go to the park. But I just love the whole atmosphere and level of service that is uniquely Disney.

DH and I have also cruised with Disney for the past 5 years and will continue to do so - the level of service is wonderful (and I LOVE Chip n Dale)

I know DVC owners who also exchange in and then extend their stay with their points .... they are very flexible!

We bought DVC to allow us to stay on-site in accomodations that we couldn't possibly afford otherwise.

I love the Disney theming and points flexibility to go at any time of the year and stay in any size of accomodation that suits us. If I go with DH we will book a studio for less points, if we take the family then we can book a 1 bed or bigger.

We use the Disney transportation to get around the parks but also hire a car to travel elsewhere & especially make use of the cheaper restaurants outside Disney.

I've got another weeks based timeshare which can get me great exchanges elsewhere but I get so much more pleasure out of my DVC in every aspect. It has cost me a lot more but I reckon it's well worth it.
