I have had the card for about a year and a half. Perks aren't that great. Basically you get a 1.00 for every 100.00 spent. They'll put the points on a plastic card called a disney reward card. I used in WDW this last november. There are better reward cards than this one.

RCI Elite Rewards is even lower. One point per $1 spent, but I just redeemed 25000 points for a $200 credit in our RCI account.
A lot of these cards are right around 1%, which was set when savings account interest rates were at that level a couple of years ago. To be fair and competitive they will need to start raising these, now that interest rates are higher.

We have had the Disney card for around 2 years. Your rewards accumulate at 1% of purchases (we pay off each month, so interest rate is not important).
After 2 years, we only accumulatd around $600 disney dollars. I have recently switched to Six Flags reward card. You get 1 point per dollar spent, but a 4 pack of season passes costs 15,000 points. I just bought a 4 pack for my family at Great Adventure and it cost me around $435. That means the reward percentage is around 3% on this card. A much better deal!
Not much in rewards, but I've had it for years and used it when we took the grandkids to Disneyworld. Saved around $ 170 bucks on admission. I haven't used the card since. Very accomodating customer service though, but not enough to offset the larger rewards on other cards.
Average rewards card---not super good, not too bad, assuming you spend some money with the Rat every year in one of its many guises. If you don't ordinarly throw money at the Rat, though, it's a loser.
We use ours, but we also find ourselves in the LBV cocoon once per year as well. The return is comparable to most of the average AmEx rewards (but not the better ones). The selling point for me is that it's dirt simple to use. Call 'em up, and then send you a pre-loaded debit card with your balance to spend as you will. We use it as "found money" when we visit the Rat, and do things that we'd not ordinarly do. The air and hotel rewards on AmEx can have better returns, but to ensure that they pay off takes some effort. This doesn't, which is nice.

Regarding Thread Start Date suggestion, I don't even remember starting this thread, or ever posting on Disney for that matter.

I use the rewards dollars to pay for my DVC maintenance fees and incidentals at the parks if I have any left at the time of our trip. I don't think the perks are "great", but it's better than nothing. I had so many issues with Discover and my rewards there, and so far, no issues with the Disney Visa.
It is a great thing if you are planning a Disney trip. We put our hotel and tickets on the card, then had about $380 Disney Dollars to spend, which took care of all spending money while in the parks. I have no plans to use the card again until the next Disney Trip (maybe a Disney Adventure) and will use the points to pay for the extras.

We bought our DVC on the Starwood Am Ex! That way we get some free hotel night stays out of it outside of the DVC system. The gold Am Ex card offers free FF miles to any airline or $100 gift cards or lots of products. I think those are better than the Visa from the sounds of it.

As I posted elsewhere recently, the RCI Elite Rewards Card finally lowered the point redemption values. It is now a 1% premuium across the board, dollars spent for RCI Member Dollars.

Speaking of cards, we get application offers almost every day. Some are good and make dollars and sense.
A year ago we had a business/investment purchase to make--$35000--and the RCI Elite Rewards card happened to have a 1.9% cash advance available. That ends next month, when the rate will jump back up to the normal rate.
But, we are not quite ready to pay off the purchase.
An app arrived this past week, for our business, for 2.9% balance transfers. It is for the life of the transfers and good only for the transfers at the time of opening the account. We will find out if it will pay off the entire balance once we apply.
For the last year we have not been using the RCI card because purchases would accrue the normal interest rate, payments would not be applied to purchases, and we have always paid our personal expenditures off every month.

The Disney Visa is now giving 5x rewards on purchases for gas, dining, drug stores, or groceries with 100 bonus dollars maximum. You have to call 1-800-518-4401 to sign up. The offer began Jan 1 and ends at the end of March 2008. You have to spend at least $100 in gas, dining, drug stores and groceries in a month before the bonus kicks in.
Note, the Disney Dream reward dollars card is reloadable, and you would have to call to request a new one. So don't throw it away when you use up the dollars loaded initially.
