Just bought AKV !!!

I thought I would share. We decided to purchase 225 points at Animal Kingdom and bought from Disney directly since they had a nice incentive with $8/point off AND 160 bonus points. My awesome guide even got us a week reserved for New Year at AKV this Dec! Yippeeee.

And, we will be first in line when Disneyland Grand CA goes on sale this fall. I cannot wait. There will only be 50 units so I am sure this will be a great opportunity to "get in."

We looked at all our options (including buying resale, etc) so if anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.

Well, we got suckered in by the incentive. Minimum was 160 points and that got us 100 free developer points. Than if you add on anothr 65, you get another 60 free points. We just couldn't resist as 225 will allow us about a week a year in a high demand time/location at DVC. I cannot wait for my Mission Hills escrow to close. Now I just need to find some free time.

I could not resist the incentives and since we closed right before the end of our use year, we got those use year points also. We got a 1 bedroom savanah view booked for 12/28 through 1/3. We like to trade into Disney when we can, but knew it would be very difficult to trade in during that holiday week.

Maybe we will see you there!

Yep, we'll be there at the same time. We got the 2 BR lockoff because we have relatives coming too. It's our first trip to WDW in about 10 years!!! The kids have never been so it's going to be great.

What is the weather like? Is it swimming weather? We are in San Diego so it will be pretty equivalent, I would think. Maybe a little warmer.

Oh, and I am NOT rescinding!

It can be hit and miss that time of year - some of our members were in FL around Christmas when it was 34 at Marriott Ocean Point!
DD and DBF were in Orlando week 1 this year and it got up to 80 every afternoon - 60's in the morning and 50/60's by 10 pm - so basically be prepared for all kinds of weather.

Congratulations on your purchase! My family owns at AKV (as well as BWV & SSR, lol!). We stayed at AKV this past Thanksgiving and really enjoyed our stay.
