  • Disney Magical Express

We have a reservation for a few nights at DVC was wondering
if somehere would provide more detailed information on how to
use Disney Magical Express. When & where does the bus stop
What paperwork do you need to do in order to ride the ME bus?

We didn't do any paper work at all....All I did was call with my reservation number, dates, and flight numbers. Disney does the rest.

The bus picks you up at the airport, and brings you to your hotel. They will also pick-up your luggage, and deliver it to your room for you, if you'd like. This way, you don't have to deal with getting your luggage when you arrive in Orlando. Just walk to the Disney bus, and relax. You will find your luggage in your room, a couple of hours after you arrive.

BTW....I think you need to make your reservation at least 3-4 weeks in advance. Disney will mail you your bus reservation, as well as your luggage tags.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Yes and all at no addtional cost to you.

FYI - be sure to pack whatever u need for the day in a carry on bag - it takes 4-5 hours to receive your luggage in your room.

So bring your bathing suit/sweatshirt/sandals - whatever u can't live without for the day with you.

On the other end of that - my brother and sister arrived in Orlando at 10 pm - they chose to pick up their luggage and bring it on the bus with them - we were leaving on a cruise at 9 am so didn't want a problem.

This another great benefit of DVC! Make sure you support this verbally or in writing to DVC- as Disney has taken a bunch of heat from the Orlando taxi drivers hurt by the loss of business.... Make sure Disney knows it is worth the trouble!

That seems so odd to me - because I don't know ANYONE who doesn't rent a car when going to Orlando.
Do you think people would take a taxi from the airport to Disney???? You just really need a car on Orlando.

In September, Disney's transportation service carried one out of every seven passengers arriving at MCO.

They know it's worth the trouble---for their bottom line. Why? Magical Express creates a captive audience. It is nigh impossible to spend money anywhere not owned by the Mouse when you take ME---the only exception is the airport itself.

              True!

Didn't realize it was one of seven - YIKES!

I was trying to make Magical Express reservations for next year and was told they aren't sure it is going to be free next year. I would have to wait and see. They also don't know the plan or price of the meal plan for next year yet. OR at least that is what they told me in April.

It will be free, I'd bet my mouse ears on it. However, 2009 resort pricing is not out yet, and it won't be known for sure until then. What happens with the dining plan is anyone's guess.

I hope ME can continue the service as it is. Some hotels in other cities offer free shuttles to/from the airport so IMHO, I don't see that ME is violation.

It seemed to me that the luggage handling at both ends (arrival and departure) was really convenient and reduced congestion at the airport. As already mentioned, any guest staying at a Disney World property can check their airline luggage at the hotel on the day of departure. I wonder if the process will change since some airlines are charging for the 1st or 2nd checked bag.

This is depressingly true. I would be happy to go to Orlando much more often if it weren't all so car-dependent.
