  • Renting points???

I have a pending request for 2 bdrm in early '09 but I'm also trying to put together back up plans just in case i don't get what I need. I've seen sights (internet) that have points for rent like $11 per... sun-sat (7 days) at Beach club villas. Is this for real? are these sights legit? has anyone used them? is that a good price? I've figured it up using a calendar for dvc and it seems like a better deal than trying to book a room or rooms out right...Please help...

    Patience, Sir Sly.

It is for real, but unless you are trading a very expensive week, the exchange will be a better deal. I just hit a 2BR for late February, and there are almost certainly more weeks to come in January; they're still burning through those September and November weeks.

I have done this through Disboards.com. These are individuals who own DVC points but can't use them, don't want to desposit them, and so they rent them out through here.

I have rented in the past through a person name on the MouseOwners.com - The Web's Most Friendly and Reliable Source for Information on the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Not sure why - but I felt more comfortable with someone from that board than DIS.

I have rented THOUSANDS of DVC points over the past 8 years (non-commercial of course).

I can only reccomend MouseOwners.com - The Web's Most Friendly and Reliable Source for Information on the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) as the best place to rent points and I would avoid DISboards (personal reasons).

I have many repeat customers, so I do not post points for rent that often, but if anyone is interested, send me a PM and the gpoing rate is about $11-12 per point.

If you see a cheap rental rate ($9-10) then that usually indicates a problem such as the points may expire soon. Thus if you have to cancel or rebook your rental, then you will lose 100% of your rental where normal DVC points get put into a bank that you can rebook within 1 year. Be careful and try to rent from someone that is experienced (usually a high post count indicated an active DVCer).
