  • Question regarding historical II Disney deposits

Well I just ended up with the mouse in my (RCI) house.

I never paid any attention as this has always been Angela's forte on the II board.

What resort seems to show up most often. Is any ex-op a good ex-op (besides holidays)? Are there more highly sought after resorts in the group of 8?

SS, and OKW showed up the most in II, by far, followed by Wilderness Lodge.

Beach Club Villas, and the Boardwalk Villas were much less frequent, and because of their walking distance location to Epcot, and MGM, they are very desirable. BCV being the rares of all.......I never saw any Animal Kingdom, because it is Disney's latest, and was never deposited into II.

2 bdrms at any resort were rare, and the 3 bdrms were only seen twice, as far as I can remember.

Disney is popular any time of the year, but late Aug, Sept, Nov. Dec, Jan are the least popular times, and normally have the most availability. Not counting the holidays T'Giving & Xmas.....Holidays are difficult to get, and are most likely the highest demand. May always had a lot of availability, as well.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

      OK Angela.

Thanks for the Cliff Notes version.

Honestly can't see myself spending 30 minutes on DIS every morning but...points can only be searrched a month at a time, per resort.

        Lawren,

Ugh, that's a nightmare.......No way you can search all of Orlando, at once, using points? That's enough to make you want to kill yourself.

Can you just put in some sort of ongoing request for the resort that you want and the dates that you want though?

The synopsis above looks correct to me. Honestly, with the high RCI points cost and the poor search features, I foresee a ton of DVC heading for Last Call Oh, and it's still showing up on II for me every morning, so go figure.

Things are never easy with RCI.

Weeks can be done that way though, after a fashion.

Someone actively looking for a specific resort and time should certainly put in a search either with RCI Points or Weeks.

However, you couldn't make me go for "pleasure" on a bet. I just post what availability I see on-line for our members here to grab.

I seriously doubt these will ever go vacant to the point of Last Call in RCI. I hope you were just being sarcastic with that remark.

I never even thought of "Last Call." That would be a riot if after all this, DVC winds up on last call due to poor RCI search features, and the high cost of points.

There will be occasional DVC's showing up in II, for a while, due to cancellations.

Oh OK, you don't see this happening......I didn't think that would happen either, which is why I never gave it a thought.

Under these conditions, you might just see it in the slower months, tho. Demand really slows down, certain times of the year.

Unless Disney has rocks for brains, they negotiated for pricing control of all rental weeks. They have a very active and successful rental arm (including their own travel company) and the very last thing they want is competition from RCI's bottom-feeder prices.

If we ever see a DVC week in Last Call, I'll eat my cardboard/felt mouse ears.

OK, I won't expect to see any showing up in Last Call. It was fun thinking for a moment, that there was a possibility, tho.

I think the best an exchanger could hope for would be a Last Minute availability within a 14 day period where any week could get it and that would most probably be in the slower periods that Angela already mentioned.

there is about 300 dvc units in getaways right now, close to full retail price, wonder if that was a major reason for the switch?
