Just got back from a TREMENDOUS stay at OKW, thanks to our friend Merilyn! What a lovely resort. We were a bit concerned about using bus service (we have never stayed off the monorail line), but it was easy and efficient. No sweat!
The grounds were lovely, the unit (we had a 2 bedroom) was spacious, and GardenGrocer.com, The Selection of a SUPERMARKET Delivered to Your Door! was terribly convenient for having food delivered upon our arrival (you order on-line, pay with a credit card and they deliver to your unit...very easy, very convenient). The folks who traveled with us are interested in purchasing at OKW our experience was so fantastic.
While at WDW, we saw the newly completed tower at the Contemporary Resort. It looks REALLY IMPRESSIVE! There is a bridge linking the DVC building to the Contemporary, which will make dining and transportation a snap.
We did not have a chance to tour, however, I spoke with someone at DVC and they informed us that the basic package for sale is 150 points for approximately $17K. The maintenance fees are lower there than any other property as it is a high rise configuration with comparably little landscaping and grounds maintenance. Fees run in the $500 range (I cannot remember the exact amount). If we were in the market for another TS, this would definitely be a consideration.
Best to all!
