  • Disney Characters at DVC?

If I were to visit a DVC that's not at a Disney Parks location, like Hilton Head, or Hawaii once it opens, would we be seeing any Disney characters around? Either in costume or even just in the decor and theming?

At Vero beach I know that they have a character breakfast and I saw Donald Duck and Goofy. You had to pay for the breakfast but they come to your table and let you take pictures with them and they interact with everyone. It's great fun and you get great pictures to embarass your family on facebook with.

I'm sure when Hawaii opens they will have Lilo & Stitch visiting at breakfast there too to probably keep with the Hawaiian theme.

Also you will see hidden Mickey's in the architecture. They try to understate it in the resorts. You won't see Mickey mouse sheets, towels or comforters but you might see a mickey cut out on the bottom of a laundry cart or in the wood in the vanity in the bathroom and other unexpected Mickeys.

I love finding them. It's a game with the kids to find the hidden Mickeys.

How about Hilton Head? We're booked there for Spring break and it would make my 10yo happy to run into Mickey and friends.

Disney's Hilton Head resort has a hunting lodge theme with a Carolina low country feel. The mascot of the resort is a golden retriever called Shadow. He has a dog house at the resort. Usually if Shadow makes an appearance, B'Lou Crabb escorts him.

I love the relaxing feel of staying at Disney's Hilton Head Island resort. They have lots of activities. I try to go to anything that B'Lou Crabb presents - he plays old time music tunes on banjo, mandolin, and fiddle and tells stories and legends of the low country. He also is a magician. You'll see touches of Disney, but the theme is definitely Carolina low country. Sheila, I don't know if you've seen these pictures, but allearsnet has some good photos of Disney's Hilton Head resort:

Haven't been to Hilton head yet so unfortunately I'm not sure if they have a character breakfast but I would guess that they do. Maybe on the weekends.

I've seen Alice's Rabbit and Donald Duck Easter morning at VB to take pictures. Actually had my picture taken with them. That was the only time.

Littlestar can correct me, but I don't think the DVC HHI resort has a full service restaurant like Shutters.

You're correct. They don't. So no character meals at Disney's Hilton Head resort.

I was totally amazed at how much business VB does with that Saturday morning character breakfast. Wow the parking lot was packed with people coming for it!

Thank you! Very good to know. I really hope Ko'Olina has a character meal. It would be the perfect marriage of our 2 favorite places, Disney and Hawaii!
