Not exactly sure what you are looking for...

You do know that HGVC members don't "deposit" their week, right? We just just our HGVC points through Hilton's corporate account and are able to reserve weeks or points inventory.

      Well, whatever

However you do it, can you get any of these HGVC resorts through RCI?:

Just trying to see if HGVC owners have access that other RCI members don't.

      Gracias.

PS: I have borrowed a friend's HGVC account to see stuff through it, but I don't mean through HGVC. I mean through RCI.

Sounds like you need to invest in a HGVC if you plan on staying in any of those resorts again JLB.

I'm trying to buy one myself because I know I don't have a prayer with RCI into Marco or Seawatch.

If you can't beat them then join them.

There are several comfortable lesser resorts in SW FL. We almost bought the unit and week we had been trading into a couple of years ago. It was a Week 2 with a beautifual Estero Bay view at BR&C. Unit 307. Of course, since it sold it has never been available. We knew that would happen.

I am now getting the same unit at another lesser resort. I have it for Week 1 (but not 2) 2010 and both 1 & 2 in 2011. That gives RCI 2 years to get their $#!+ together.

The HGVCs have been appearing in the 14 Day Window. This morning there were 3 SW FL resorts for 12/5 or 12/12. At noon there were none. An hour ago there were 5. Now there are four, including this:

Eagle's Nest Beach Resort (#0731) 1 available unit
          Marco Island FL, 34145
          1 BR (4 max)
          11-Dec-2009

We need something for 1/8 or 1/9 and it appears I won't be able to see anything, if there is anything, until after Christmas.

I think December is easier than January when the snowbirds finally leave their nests after all that holiday fun. I know I have picked up weeks on the east coast in last call on the beach although you know as a "native" Floridian my toes don't even hit the surf til May. Not sure about the gulf coast as it's never occured to me to go West for Christmas only North to Mickey land.

I've gotten last minute ressies from owners on ebay so you might want to check there. I picked up 2 weeks at Bonita Resort about 3 years ago for $99 and $200 on ebay from a seller who was trying to auction them. They honored the auction and I got a great 2 week deal from an amateur seller.

Hopefully something will open up for you. I'll keep an eye out if I see anything and PM you.

Snowbird season used to start Jan. 15th, but has been moving earlier, closer to Christmas.

Barring economic speedbumps like last January, when Sanibel was nearly deserted Week 2, and rentors did not even show up, sacrificing their deposits.

                JLB,
Why don't you start heading south in December instead and scoop up all the good deals. The beach is the same and we do put up Christmas lights.
I know it's not as nice as a white Christmas but you can pretend the sand is snow.
