    HGVC new Resort - Carlsbad

    I confirmed that the new Grand Pacific resort in Carlsbad "Marbrisa" will be an HGVC resort.. opening in Aug 07

    Also, I was told they are going to see how the relationship works and if it goes well, they are talking about getting all the GPR resorts into HGVC..

    I think this is great news for GPR and HGVC

    It always good to hear that HGVC is expanding their locations. The main reason I don't own HGVC is the limited locations.

        I was starting to think this would be fantastic for us GPR owners.. if HGVC was affliated with all the resorts. but.. We "GPR owners" would have less inventory for our internal trading. Some of those summer week owners would join HGVC and deposit with them.

          Dave, who will be selling these timeshares at the Grand Pacific Marbrisa Resort in Carlsbad? Will it be the HGVC or the Grand Pacific Resorts?

          Lately, we have had several announcements of new timeshares being offered for sale in Southern California and most have ocean view too but none of them are on the beach, I believe.

          Interesting to note too that several of the hotel chains are going together because these mini systems will eliminate the use of RCI or II in the future except for the small independent resorts. I wonder what will happen to them and especially to the ones that SFX doesn't want to accept?

          Are they going to sell weeks or points?

            I just looked at the 2 bedroom lockout model. They are beautiful units. Too bad they didn't make the lockout a true one bedroom as they are in many Westin units. But still really nice!

              Awesome new resort summer weeks available

              I also just went throught the complete showing of a 2 and 3 bedroom throught the resort. There are summer weeks available 2 br lockout park view good for 8400 hgvc points this sounds like a great deal to me. 10% discount to current GP owners. Buy presale or resale in this case it looks like presale is the only way to get summer prime at a discount. Any other thoughts on this. I would love to hear Calidaves comments and thoughts on this.

                There are summer weeks available 2 br lockout park view good for 8400 hgvc points this sounds like a great deal to me. 10% discount to current GP owners. Buy presale or resale in this case it looks like presale is the only way to get summer prime at a discount.
                The word is that the sales documents at this resort make resales a problem because "resales will not be in HGVC "

                    If you own a GPR resort find out if they will give you trade-in value for it. They have offered this in the past for GPP weeks (at full retail value when it was originally purchased from the developer).

                      ONLY 10% Off they do not want the weeks. Because it is HGVC points which they say are much higher in valu than Fairfield and RCI points.

                        No it means that if you buy resale.. You can't be part of HGVC and when you go to sell the value of your week will be more on par with GPP weeks instead of HGVC weeks, which have much higher resale values.

                        I thougth the rooms were very very nice. On Par with most Hilton timeshares.
                        One thing I didn't like. No jacuzzi tub (they say they have too many maint issues)
                        I don't like that the shower head is pointed towards the shower door.
                        I like to open the door, turn on the water, before I get it. It will spray right out of the shower.

                        The model of the grounds were great. I can't wait until they are finished
