  • Depositing Starwood week in II - how?

I am a Starwood owner - the last time I deposited a week in II - you were still able to reserve a week and deposit it online at II.
Now I have a reservation for July at my home resort but will deposit it instead.
How do I proceed? Who do I call first as I know this can no longer be done online.

    Pat,

You can no longer deposit your week online. You need to call Starwood, and have them deposit the week.

From my understanding, it's irrelevant what week in the season you deposit. You now are going to receive the same trading power, regardless.

The trading power given your week will be an average of all the weeks in the season in which your week falls. Particular dates no longer make a difference.

That's my understanding, at any rate.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Thanks Angela....and here is another example of why my SBP will go with II or SFX.

I also got max TPU 19 on small and large SDO 1 bedroom regardless of week deposit. So does it mean our sdo is only getting blended value of 19?

So for my large eoy SDO with fee of >$600 / use, it is $30/tpu.

In comparison, my spring wk SDO I deposited last yr got 39 tpu.

also, sheraton broadway plantation 1 bedroom only get 19 tpu on gold plus season wk 9-47, a huge difference in the tpu 45 I got for wk 27 I deposited in 2009.

I guess I will only use sbp and sdo in II or independence exchange co.

Yup....That's why I gave RCI a try. I think SFX may be a good choice for SBP.

          Should I??

I wonder if my large 1 bedroom EOY SDO should go into SFX for a SVV or SVR exchange. the SFX exchange fee is lower to exchange than II.

I know II does a *wood to *wood preference when exchanging, but I have not use II in years.
Has anyone used their SDO with SFX to exchange in to SVV,SVR or even HRA??. TIA

Hi Minnie and welcome to 4Ms.

I am a Platinum member of SFX and also a long time II member - in the situation you describe, where u want to trade a 1BR starwood for a 2BR starwood - II is the better choice.
You have a Starwood preference and u will be able to upgrade to a 2BR without a problem.

I am not saying that you can NOT get that exchange with SFX but in order to get a 2BR with SFX you have to be a Platinum member or pay a size upgrade fee of $199ish as well as the exchange fee.

The only time I use II with my Starwood ownership is if I want another Starwood exchange...for that, it is the best.

              GrayFal,
Thank you for your insight. I had know idea that my 1 bedroom could even pull a 2 bedroom at SVV or SVR. Not sure if I would be able to do that at HRA, but even a 1bedroom at HRA would be a dream. Thanks again.
