Hey....You have Starwood questions....I have Starwood answers. Send me a pm or you can even call me. We own 5 properties-Keirland Cancun, St John and Harborside. We trade, exchange and use SVN often.

I use to come here, but its been a long time. Chris posted a link on another forum that brought me here.

I actually don't post a lot on any time share forum, except Disney stuff. I like the happy people that tend to go to Disney.

The Starwood crowd has had a few rough years with divisiveness between different type owners. I have not felt the love on the 'other forum' so no longer post there. It is amazing how 1 or 2 posters can sour a place for many.

Chris, never EVER plan to get St John thru II - NEVER - I say this with love - it can happen but is HIGHLY unlikely.

If your goal is to get to Harborside - then an inexpensive resale (there have been Starwood weeks on the freebie board OY) will get you there.
If you want to go to St John, you will need to buy a mandatory resort $$$ and try to trade in using StarOptions in the off season. The two times I have been there - in August and October, I met people who were there using SOs in October only - August seemed to be owners.

I was.....I read a bunch of the post....over there. I just don't always post a reply. A lot of times I am just too busy.

Like today, I spent 1.5 hours just going through the rent/trade board closing/moving/editing posts.

Heck, even Starwood owners hardly never, ever get an exchange into St John.

Sept, Oct and early November are your absolute best chances to get an exchange. Staroptions are fairly easy to get during that time too. If your intent is to only go during hurricane season, find an owner and do a quick rental.
