  • Looking for a Sheraton Desert Oasis.

I am not sure if we can post this but my parents would like to buy an SDO that is a 2BR lockoff. I am looking for one for them that was bought from Starwood rather than the original developer (that Starwood later bought out). If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be so happy.

The trouble is that when I see the postings on Redweek.com and other places, I can't tell if they are from Starwood or not. Most are listed by agents so they don't know either. I am spending a lot of time just trying to sort out the difference and it's driving me nuts.

    Any suggestions? Katherine

I have found a very knowledgeable re-seller in AZ - I am going to look around my saved 'stuff' and see if I can find their website.
They will know the difference between the 2 types of units.
From what I have heard (and seen here) Sheraton Broadway Plantation seems to have better II 'juice'
If you are buying to 're-qual' then SDO sold by Starwood is the way to go.

Sheraton Desert Oasis is a beautiful resort. If I remember correctly, some are designated Red weeks 1-52, and others are specifically designated winter weeks. I'm not sure of the start-finish dates.

If I were buying a Red Week, at this resort, I'd want to make sure I had the winter season, only, not weeks 1-52.

Try Pat's link, and good luck!!

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We bought a resale from Smartchoice about 4 years ago and had no complaints. Good luck with your search.

This may be useful as well. There are several 2 bedroom Sheraton Desert Oasis units on the site. One for week 45. Here is the link to that property. Just click on the link below and it should open a new tab in your browser. Good luck!

Found one on eBay for a great price, thank you! And I picked up a PGA too. COULD NOT RESIST!

Maaan, TSing is addicting. Cannot wait to start playing with my weeks.

I am not Kath but SDO Every Year 2BR L/O have been going for around $3,000-3,500.
1BRs are going for considerably less - under 1K for each half.
                A friend just purchased a 1BR EY for $610!
If your purpose is to trade these units rather then stay at the property, buying 1BRs makes more sense. Even with 2 closing fees, you are still ahead monetarily.

                        SDO is tempting

                        I'm debating between Worldmark - 5000 pts for $3200 + $450 mf
                        or SDO - $3500 + $720.

I already own at westin but primarily rent them out.

I've heard SDO has good/great trading power
but also heard WM has good/great trading power.

                        Any suggestions?

Do you reserve a week 1st , then the resort deposits it in II?
