I am considering buying an annual Sheridan Vistana in Orlando. The week is high season and #25. I only have timeshares with floating resorts. The owner said that I can reserve other weeks through the resort and exchange with RCI. Can anyone explain to me how Sheridan works with assigned weeks.

Are you interested in Vistana Resort? or Vistana Villages? They are two separate resorts at different locations in Orlando. VV will be a lot more expensive than VR. Do you know which section/phase with the resort the unit is in? There is a wide variation in quality/price that you should be aware of. Also, many of the VR sections either have assessments due or are about to have them, so make sure you are aware of that possibility.
FYI, Starwood resale weeks do very well in II, since there is a 3 day preference period where only Starwood weeks can see other Starwood weeks. You might want to consider II with your week.

Please read the FAQ thread over yonder FAQ it will answer many of your questions.
Vistana ia a great deal if you want to be in RCI and RCi points. Vistana Villages is a good deal if you want to use II and the starwood vacation network (SVN) since most resales are in the mandatory phases.
