    HGVC Waikoloa Hawaii unit advice?

We have an RCI exchange into HGVC Waikoloa....does anyone have any advice about what units to try for and what units to avoid?

    Thanks.

I don't think any would be "bad"

I stayed in Building 9 last year. It was great. I would want to be on that side of the street. It might be a little more peaceful. I was in Room 914. Ground floor. Unit was huge. Had some tiny ants but nothing real problematic.

I would stay away from Buildings 1, 11, 12, and 13, but there is no way you could have a bad time.

Do you have room in your suitcase for me?

          yeah baby

We got a great unit in the 1900 building. We are right next door to the best unit in the building and on the property.....from what I can tell. More later. So much for being RCI exchangers.

So far it has been great.....two perfect days. We found the perfect beach...and we thought we had before....wow....a baby manta ray (six foot wing span) was swimming with us all day in about 10 ft of water feeding over the sand....it swam right under all of us several times as it had no fear. This was absolutely amazing. We have been on several manta ray night dives and snorkel trips but have never experienced this during the day.

We love the Big Island...it has the best beaches.....and we just went horseback riding today. Gotta go.....tired and a full day planned for tomorrow.

          later.

Glad you're having a great time. I sure like that HGVC resort. Yes it isn't on the beach but still very nice!!

PS In earlier threads, they said that there was significant noise from the construction of private condos next to the 1900 bld. Are they done?? Any problems from the private condos next store?

But you'll be "On Vacation"!! Which is almost always better than not on vacation.

                  Bill,

They must be done. I see some buildings in the distance from our balcony but no noise at all. All we hear are the birds, the golf balls, the golf carts, the lawn mower, and the wind in the palms.

Oh and we hear the elephants upstairs but that is to be expected since we are on the second floor.

I talked to some of the employees here and they say they are at 100% occupancy but it sure does not seem like it. It is peacefull and uncrowded....we are loving it. We can see the Kohala volcano on one side and the distant ocean to the other side over the Hilton Waikoloa Village....where the sun sets.

The view is primarily the volcano, blue skies, and the green palms on the golf course.
